The seventh anniversary of the epic RPG from CD PROJEKT RED is upon us. Celebrate this date with us and visit our special page dedicated to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and other games from The Witcher series. There, you’ll find all about the benefits (exclusive goodies and an occasion to grab a game as a gift) of buying The Witcher games on GOG.

The anniversary comes with a set of discounts in our store, lasting until 22nd May 2022, 10 PM UTC. During that time, if you buy all 3 of the mentioned below titles, an additional 10% discount will be added to the entire bundle:

The Witcher: Enhanced Edition (-85%)
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition (-85%)
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (-80%)

Can someone explain the reason why the DLC/DLC Pass is never ever given the same discount as the GOTY, despite the GOTY already being cheaper to begin with?

To teach people the important lesson that it is a bad idea to buy video games early on.

It says so in the title: it is the GOG way :D

"Celebrate The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt anniversary in a GOG way!"
I can't see the discount, because – I guess – I already own the trilogy.
But the prices look like as always. Do I understand correctly that the discount is actually lower than usual and the additional discount makes the prices similar to those seen in all the previous sales?

I certainly learnt my lesson and decided not to pre-order/buy Cyberpunk on launch and wait for the GOTY. I guess they dun me a solid. ;P

You're being punished for buying the base game too soon. Similar to what I posted yesterday about Grim Dawn.

TW1: 85%
TW2: 85%
TW3: 80%
TW3 GOTY: 80%
TW3 HoS: 70%
TW3 BaW: 70%
TW3 Expansion pass: 70%
Thronebreaker: TWT: 70%
Lads, when are we getting those Galaxy achievements for Witcher 2?!
I wonder if the Enhanced Edition of Witcher 3 was supposed to be released for this? Oh well, better it be released polished and late than buggy and on time.
Every time a Witcher special sale comes up, I ask myself the same questions:

"Is there really somebody out there who hasn't bought and played the games yet?"

... If yes, they probably are not interested in the franchise anyway

People are certainly buying them since they move up the bestseller list every time they're on sale. *shrug*

*raises hand*

I have tried all the three games out to see how they run, but I haven't properly played them yet.

In fact, getting a DRM-free digital version of The Witcher 1 and 2 was the very reason I joined GOG.com to begin with, back in June 2011.

To me your point would make more sense if you had said that if someone hasn't BOUGHT the games yet, they are probably not that interested in getting them anyway. Then again, there are new PC gamers born every day...

At least I am, but my excuse is that there are thousands if not trillions of other unplayed games out there as well.

Currently I am playing e.g. Star Wars Dark Forces 2, and Dungeon Siege 2. And of course Team Fortress 2 when I feel like it.

Wait, owning the GOTY of Witcher 3 doesn't mark the DLCs or even the base game itself as owned? :/

It happens with a lot of games on the store, but I thought that GOG would be careful not to let that happen with their main game.

OK, yeah. I can confirm that the extra -10% is only applied after you click "Checkout Now" and view the games in your cart. However, it does not give you the extra -10% on the GOTY edition of Witcher 3 - only the base game. Sort of annoying.
