Who would've guessed it would come to this less than a month ago... These will most likely go nowhere but it is another blow to their reputation
All the sources use "might", "looking into it" etc.

In short, they are still in the "maybe it will happen" faze.
I see a youtube link and no actual sources. none.
Theres always something, GTA5 had lawsuits, Fallout 76 had too. Witcher3. Theres even heavy pressure from government due to excess violence in game industry. Epic Games is going against Apple as far I know. Kids are addicted to games is one issue too in game industry.

Drama Queens jump on them like a fat kid on candy. Drama is deep in game industry, wouldnt be bad idea to make drama games, imho.

Links to sources, among them law firm(s) announcing CA law suit, are in the description of the YT video.
Just keep not looking at them, and all is fine.
The Rosen suit is pretty definite, pending interest. The others aren't, at least yet.

"We weren't told a year ago that C2077 would be pulled from PS4 due to bugs post release" doesn't seem like a strong position though, and the suspicion is always that a settlement is being fished for rather than an actual case being prepared.
Another thread about CDP/Cyberpunk, I guess some youtuber must have posted a new video.

Unfortunately, I was kinda caught up on this youtube thing, and yongyea was one of the people I used to watch, though with the current influx of outrage Imanaged to drop alot of youtubers I followed.

Lately, it was jim sterling and ACG. Their coverage of the Cyberpunk story, and their hyperbolic delight in all of it, just got me to realize that I just don't like their content, and I didn't like itt for a long time, but I was used to following them.

Now THAT'S karma. Funny, given the Buddhist themes of Devotion
People keep forgetting that all investors or shareholders care about is money. That's why we have full price games with lootboxes, that's why releasing unfinished games became a norm as soon as internet become fast enough and unlimited in most countries. That's why gaming industry is in the constant greed amplification feedback loop - if we'll talk about CP2077 specifically - it made 13m with all the refunds going on on pre-orders and this month's sales alone. And investors say "it's not enough". This kind of greed ruined movie industry already, now it's games. And it's not limited to that - it's the same with real life goods. When stuff is supposed to be premium quality got cost cuts at every corner and planned obsolescence everywhere. $9000 laptop with hingers breaking after 3 years of normal use, cars that fall apart after 5 years etc-etc. That's all because of making quick buck mentality. Before that companies cared about reputation, goods after some price point were high quality.

Also the legal system. It's not about who's right, it's about who got more money for lawyers.

Like the case of that Tardigrades indie game vs Star Trek Discovery. You don't have to be a genius to see 100% pure plagiarism in that. It's not one thing but 3 things that are suspiciously similar. And yet it was dismissed on claims like it's a scientific fact that tardigrades can travel in space. Yeah it is but is it also the fact that you can use giant tardigrades for interstellar travel as well... engine? Don't think so. Characters having surprising similarities also? Etc-etc. It's just CBS got more money than that dude can make in 15000 years if he could live that long.

(also that case clearly shows my point on where quick buck mentality leads - original Star Trek was on a very tight budget and yet they were hiring very talented sci-fi writers to write scripts for the episodes and in Discovery it went down to cheap sy-fy level stuff with significant part being just copypaste from internet).

CDPR management isn't innocent in this case since they clearly witheld information about the state of console versions but it's unreasonable expectations from investors or shareholders that led to the situation where 90% of AAA games get released in unplayable or barely playable state. CP2077 at least didn't brick consoles or crashed with FS corruption (the only fix for that is formatting console drive, losing all settings, installed games and save data which had no backup) did nor it was as bad as Fallout 76 even at release or Anthem or PS3 release of Skyrim for that matter.

It's just mostly that game got overhyped and it backfired, just like with NMS.

For the whole Devotion situation - it looks like everything is according to plan - insert stupid joke about Chinese leader, cause outrage in mainland China, get game removed from big storefronts, release on some indie store and count the money. It's not the first time controversy is used to fuel the sales.

Thunderbringer: People keep forgetting that all investors or shareholders care about is money.
Bingo!
And now we have gamers (who usually decry corporations for their greed) cheering at the prospect of CDPR being sued, so that a rich investor (more concrete: a lawyer owning his own law firm) can become a little richer than he already is.
All the while, zero fucks are given over the fate of game, the store or the company behind.
Oh, the irony.
