Well i downloaded the rom and tried to install the game but everytime it would fail with the message: Error 10...
I thought well the files must be corrupt so i downloaded them again. Same Error again. THats why i tried to to it with the galaxy client which had to download the 28gb again ofc. I was exicted when it finished but i got an connection error this time which i thought wouldnt matter because it had allready downloaded the full game and i should be able to just go on with the install but fuck me it just deleted all the fucking 28gb and started a new download instead of just installing? Who would write a code like that? That is one of the dumbest thing ive ever seen since i have a computer..

I wouldnt recommend anyone to buy the game here, just get a physical copy and maybe be able to play.
It's a Beta Ema. Are you always this patient? :D

Labeling it Beta doesn't stop the feeling it's still an alpha.

I know and I don't like the client any more than anyone else, but despite what many people are claiming, it is not necessary to have in order to download or play and on top of that, having a cow isn't going to get it fixed any sooner.
It is a rather annoying piece of software, that's true.

But anyone who calls the witcher 3 a rom makes me facepalm.

What are you wearing?

The official support page has this to say about Error 10:

Installation failed with code -10: File reading error

GOG.COM DIGITAL INSTALLER VERSIONS

Make sure that you have at least 30 GB of space available on drive C:, or that you do not install the game onto drive C:. Otherwise you might run out of space during the installation, and it will fail.

By the way, I agree that the client sucks right now. I can't shake the feeling they rushed the open beta out the door to coincide with the release of The Witcher 3. Usually, there aren't many problems with downloading and installing games from GOG.

Sadly GOG decided to push it ahead of time and the new people, if they're used to client-land (Steam, Origin, etc), might not think to look for alternatives.

Let's just say I find these rants more justified than the "I want my Steam key" threads and less annoying than the friend-me threads.

Btw, only few newbies seem to notice that it's still a "beta".. or GOG isn't clear at all.

Well i noticed that it is still in the beta but a client that is meant to help people download and install games which does delete the whole game if the connection is lost even if the download finished? Thats just useless and shouldnt even be called alpha. Its not that iam not patient just that i paid 50€ for a game that i now downloaded three times and it just wont work, frustrating. I'd be ways to ashamed to release a product like this. And sorry that i called it "rom". I have no clue how this compressed files of the game are called but i think everyone knows what i wanted to say.

Sorry for my bad english, its not my first language and I probably feel a bit too upset, resulting in me rushing the posts.

They're just called installers.

And your frustration is perfectly understandable. The download issues with Galaxy basically mean that the old GOG Downloader is still the preferable option for large games. If you're interested, read this post I made regarding the issue.
The Steam client sucked hard from 2003 to like 2006.

I first downloaded Steam in 2004 and from 2004 to 2005 the Steam client sucked hard.

GoG Galaxy is in open beta. The gog.com employees are fixing bugs for GoG Galaxy.

Have patience.

Welcome to gog.com. Enjoy your stay at gog.com.

Sorry to hear you've had a bad experience with the Galaxy beta, as that can be very frustrating. Rest assured though that GOG.com is a great site and they do have great customer support here. At the moment the website is in a bit of flux while they are in the process of a major redesign, and Galaxy client is very highly experimental right now and not ready for prime-time usage. That's unfortunate as it is so prominently displayed on the site right now which might mislead users into thinking it is close to finished but it is very developmental and buggy at the moment. This will improve greatly over time I'm sure but for now the best way to download your games here is to do direct downloads via the website or to install and use GOG Downloader which is just a simple downloader but fairly reliable.

As some have said already, they rushed Galaxy out to public beta in order to have it out in time for The Witcher 3 for people to try, but unfortunately it got rushed into beta long before it was truly ready and as a result a lot of customers are trying it thinking it is more ready than it is and getting frustrated at the poor experience if things don't go right for them.

Rest assured though GOG.com is a great company and place for buying games even if it is a little old fashioned and a bit of a roller coaster ride at the moment. Hopefully you stay and give them another chance and come to enjoy the site like many of us long timers have. It does require a fair bit of patience at the moment though.

Just contact their technical support if you need help with anything and they should respond within 24-48 business hours or so (Poland time).

Hope this helps.

Many people don't seem to know/remember the rocky start of steam, it was quite a mess in the early noughties. Galaxy is doing pretty well in my opinion, modern tools have a lot to do with that probably, but still. And regarding TW3, you don't release such a high profile game nowadays with its lot of hiccups (of course you 'could' release it in a very clean way, but people would still be complaining for it not being released for months to come).
Iam contacting their support right now, hopefully they'll help. I got that the client is still in an very early phase but they shoud just point that out clearly and dont encourage you to use it (by saying that the downloader wont get any further support which made me think that the client would be the better tool) without telling you that it is more for their development than for your own good :D If it would have been just the client that didnt work i wouldnt have been that harsh but trying three different methods of downloading the game that wouldnt work just made me loose it for a moment.

edit: I would still use galaxy over origin :D And aswell I am not a steam fanboy but on the other hand steam is running pretty well right now and i never had problems with it in the last years. Furthermore I am not into programming and stuff but i thought making your "tool" check if there are files that allready exist and then go on downloading the missing ones or even just do the install would be a basic function of such tools as galaxy or steam and not that hard to realise.

Eh, indeed GOG's choice to test an unfinished product on a popular expensive release wasn't one of the wisest..
Normal users shouldn't even have seen it until it was complete.
