What is on topic for the general forum then? The general forum is the off topic forum for GOG, since the games they do sell have their own sub forums.

Well you can just ignore those threads if you're not interested in them like every other sane person that doesn't care for a particular thread here. General discussion is the off topic forum so where else should these threads go?

To give the benefit of the doubt, they might want seperate gaming off topic and general off topic. I dont think it is necessary, but it might be a genuine suggestion on their part and not a completely stupid one even if not needed (I thought they meant individual games at first, reading again maybe not).

I agree with the OP. Those threads should be moved in order to make more room for endless giveaway threads.

I agree, we should also have a separate forum for the quite obvious other store marketing posts, say the "have a freebie, all you need to do is install our client" ones, or the "lookie here at this shiny new game on greenlight".

Actually, joking aside, it may be a good idea to categorise it a bit more, maybe have a section for giveaways, a section for questions, general technical questions etc. A lot of the posts that appear in General disappear off into > page 1 oblivion after half an hour or so.

Seriously, that's about the weirdest complaint I've seen here yet. General forum is exactly the place for all the random, various, "off-topic" (of what topic? There is no set "topic" for the general forum) threads.

I disagree with you, OP, but I would be interested if you have a good suggestion for a better forum structure :)
