New update for GWENT: The Witcher Card Game is now available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One! With update 2.2, we’ve focused on reworking the tutorial and starter decks* to improve the first-time user experience. We’ve also set a minimum number of units to be included in every deck to 13, and added brand new Tavern Board to the game!

This is how starter decks are distributed to players:
- Accounts which sign up after Patch 2.2 will be assigned starter decks accordingly.
- Accounts which played at least 1 online game after Patch 1.0 (post-Homecoming) see no changes.
- Accounts which played 0 online games after Patch 1.0 (post-Homecoming) have the old starter decks and all cards that constitute those starter decks removed from their collection. Then, all of the new starter deck cards will be added (in card collection), and all of the new starter decks will be added (in deck selection).

Full list of changes:
- Opponent AI in Training Mode has been improved.
- Matches are now played on one unified game board rather than two distinct halves from different game boards.
- Valid decks must now contain a minimum of 13 units.
- Changes in Deck Builder UI.
- Updated Shupe's VFX when opening goodies.
- In-game UI has been updated allowing players to hide usernames by clicking on player avatars. Also, players can now see point totals for each row by clicking on the crown icon (defaulted to RS/R3 on Xbox One/PS4 gamepads).
- Added 8 new daily quests that offer Reward Points.
- Starter decks have been reworked to showcase more faction cards and faction-specific mechanics.

New Features
- Complete overhaul of first-time user experience.
- Added a new setting allowing you to choose whether you always see the game board of your choice or let it be determined by the chosen game board of whichever player goes second (the Defender).
- Improved lighting on game boards.
- UI has been updated to make Borders and Avatars visible during matches.

- Fixed an issue whereby Nithral's Deploy ability would not trigger if the condition for his secondary Dominance ability was not met.
- Fixed an issue whereby a match would desync and end in a Draw if some actions were still resolving as the turn timer expired.
- Fixed an issue whereby playing a Special card with a full board would result in the card being discarded.

- Fixed an issue whereby An Craite Longship would not damage units played by the opponent from the player's graveyard.
That title is pretty vague. I thought it had to do with GOG at first and not GWENT.
Well darn I just started playing last night for the first time, nice to see some improvements rolling in either way.

Yeah the title is really really poorly worded, especially given the hoopla around the Galaxy 2.0 announcement one would think very much it was about GOG in general

Yeah that's better

Dont get me wrong improvments to Gwent are of course good! :)
Would have been nice if long time players could have gotten a scrap refund on cards like Geralt or the Serrit/Auckes combo, seeing as now they are given away for free...
I started playing Gwent a couple of weeks ago. I don't like how this new update leaves me stuck with the crappy old starting decks whereas new players get access to good new starting decks. That's quite unfair IMO.
I started playing a couple of months ago and I haven't touched Northern Realms and Niflegard, it's just BS that we don't even get some scraps and new accounts get cards that we had to craft for free. I haven't spent any real money on the game, but if I had, I certainly would be furious right now. This is a very stupid move on CDPR's behalf. Say what you will about Hearthstone and Blizzard, but as far as I know, they have never discriminated their player-base when it comes to changes and updates. A very stupid decision indeed. If that's how things usually go down, then I don't see the point in crafting cards and decks when some players can get them arbitrarily for free while others get nothing, not even some sort of compensation for the carda they have crafted or opened and I certainly don't see me spending real money on the game any time soon. This left me with a very bitter taste on an otherwise really good game.
3 days in and loving the game... but im not sure if this is correct - but the (new) gerald card that kills enemies above 8 is rediculous. it just trolls any player thinking 3 or 4 cards ahead.

been losing the same match against the same card 3 times in a row since this card has been added.

And the Practise mode still has only one deck. Seriously? It's useless this way. That is why I don't play the game any more, since the homecomming. How am I supposed to test my decks and new cards? How am I supposed to test how all those changes you constantly deploy affect my decks? I don't want to play with untested decks - that is what Arena is for.
