A game that has a huge cult following around the world finally gets some new adjustments. As the creator of Stardew Valley sums up – 1.4 update purpose is not just to add new content, but to make the game even more enjoyable.

For example, some tools will now prove to be more efficient. Moreover, every spouse of the main character will get an additional after-marriage quest. Gamers will also receive a convenient screenshot button to make a photo of their farm, which they can later share with friends. To celebrate its 1.4 update release, Stardew Valley will be available on GOG.COM with a 10% discount until 3rd December 2019, 6 PM UTC.

Not only Stardew Valley fans will be satisfied with improvements and additional features today. A free DLC for the Project Hospital game, called Doctor Mode, is out now on GOG.COM. Also, you can buy Tangledeep – Dawn of Dragons DLC, with a 10% discount until 3rd December 2019, 5 PM UTC.

Cusith: I wonder if this is a case of the developer not knowing that they can upload linux the same way as windows and mac (at least I read that its possible these days) or that they have uploaded it and gog have just not noticed.

I take it someone has filed a bug report with gog?
IT IS AVAILABLE ON GOG FOR LINUX NOW

Woot. About time, eh?

Glad it's finally here. Now us filthy third raters can play it too :)
I just updated to 1.4 on Linux and wanted to play with my partner (host machine is 1.4 on Steam). Since LAN play doesn't work instantly and I don't want to fiddle around with firewall settings on the other machine, I thought "let's use the game invite code like we always used to", only to discover it's not there. Has it been there before or is it a missing feature on Linux? I cannot quite recall because it's been a while since we played the game together.

Edit: The host can tell me the game code, but I cannot enter it on my Linux laptop.

My kid EXPLODED when I showed him SV 1.4 update available here on GOG. HUGE changes in this version make many people start farming all over again. Thanks to developers and my favourite GOG.com !
Please don't forget 1.4.1 Bug-Fix Patch for Gog down loader.

Thanks:)

That must have been messy. Was it anything like this? =P

It's Galaxy/Steam feature. And doesn't work without installed client.
So, when will we get the 1.41 patch, GOG? Any time now ... and do not forget the Linux version.

Judging from file name it should be 1.4
Stardew Valley 1.4.2 seems to be here. Thanks GoG:)

And for those of us on Linux, we still wait and wait and wait... :-(
I just have to ask all these Linux gamers...

Can you not manage your own games?

I was a Linux gamer for quite a while, got almmost all of the games I played to work on LFS, Slackware, Debian, and Red Hat.

Are modern Linux users just folks who installed Ubuntu and decided they were a Linux Nerd but need someone else to package and manage everything for them?

Even if you just use WINE the current GOG release of Stardew valley plays perfectly.

The only way I'd be excited over an actual Linux port is if they released an ARM version.

Waldschatten: Can you not manage your own games?
If the source code was provided we could compile our own game. Managing seems to be equal to installing it without a crappy client. That's hard if the latest version isn't available.

Using wine (that messes with file associations, etc. even with the WINEDLLOVERRIDES=… trick) for native games just because GOG isn't able to provide keep up with updates is completely unacceptable.
Thankfully the update is out now, and I've tried it out. Works very well.

But it continues to be frustrating to always have Linux releases postponed for days, or sometimes even weeks. It's really not how it should be.
I have been trying since the release to figure out how to even download the stupid update. i love this game, its the only game i play and i am going to delete it off my system. when i google for help all i get is more wonderul teasers of content upload. i used GOG to download the origional game why cant i update it? i am so frustrated i am about to no longer be a player and a customer and that is fucking sad.
