A game that has a huge cult following around the world finally gets some new adjustments. As the creator of Stardew Valley sums up – 1.4 update purpose is not just to add new content, but to make the game even more enjoyable.

For example, some tools will now prove to be more efficient. Moreover, every spouse of the main character will get an additional after-marriage quest. Gamers will also receive a convenient screenshot button to make a photo of their farm, which they can later share with friends. To celebrate its 1.4 update release, Stardew Valley will be available on GOG.COM with a 10% discount until 3rd December 2019, 6 PM UTC.

Not only Stardew Valley fans will be satisfied with improvements and additional features today. A free DLC for the Project Hospital game, called Doctor Mode, is out now on GOG.COM. Also, you can buy Tangledeep – Dawn of Dragons DLC, with a 10% discount until 3rd December 2019, 5 PM UTC.
Looking forward to it :)
This is getting ridiculous now. It's been hours upon hours and no sign of the Linux build. Why must we always be treated like second (or third) grade citizens?

Yep that is a tad annoying.
Meanwhile have a loop at my previous comment, with some modifications the new release works on Linux (though it will complain about missing GOG Galaxy libs and that it want's a newer version of sdl2).
I'm just worried about messing something up with a 'hack' like that, as I'd like to continue the savegame I started a couple weeks ago when I returned to the game after a 12-18 months hiatus.

Why does GOG always manage to muck up the Linux releases? It's so frustrating. They should be glad there are no real competitors for those of us who care about DRM Free-ness.

Yep, that's why I've made a copy of my save. Will probably also wait for a proper release before I continue my current playthrough.

Though I wonder how they manage to mess this up. I mean, where's the difficulty, after all they've managed the MacOS release just fine... and its not really hard to package up some pre-built binaries.

Yes, it's impressive in a sense. This has been happening for years, even with big releases (this one is pretty big too in fairness). Presumably the files arehanded to them on a platter from the developers, so it can't possibly be all that much to do. Yet here we are yet again with a big release where they cock up the Linux builds/patches. It's so frustrating.

Stardew valley 1.4 hotfix is out
. I think it's galaxy only for now. Fixes emoji bug. Fixes mining stone bug. New version is 1.4.362073756
that's massive update, even after reading 20% of it I have noticed there's alot of added functionality that were covered by plugins - god job, ConcernedApe :)

Business as usual somehow.

The stuff that can be found on the Wiki is just crazy. I am actually surprised that this is not an add-on for which you have to pay for. A welcome deviation from what software developers tend to do these days.

TheGreatDustpan: Does Stardew Valley have achievement support through Galaxy?
Nope, no achivements sadly.
I kinda wish for gog connect for this game
@gog

I think the linked video in the news is wrong now, according to title/content it is for Version 1.1

depreD: Alright, for everyone on Linux:
with lots of black magic you can get it to run.
I didn't buy a linux native game just so I could try and make the mac version work on linux.
Think they'll ever add achievements to this game?

I'd be missing like two of them had I bought this on Steam.

Here?

Nope, no achievements for you.

At least we get updates though so it's MUCH better than Don't Starve.
I haven't played this since release. Maybe it's time I jumped back in. I'm just scared since games like this are so addictive for me. And this game is one of the best of its kind.
