So I bought during the summer sale Risk of Rain, oh great it crashes all the time. Let`s see, ah yeah I bought another game, a classic. Jade Empire. Guess what, it`s also broken.

I switched from Steam to GOG, because I got really fed up with Valve treating their customer base like stupid cattle. First impression of GOG was very positive, but this is really a slap in the face.
Claiming that every title has been checked for compabilty and other Issues and here we are, payed for products that does not work.

I guess being a customer means today: please bend over.
Don't know RoR but my GOG Jade Empire runs perfectly.

Maybe try and find a solution here :

Jade Emp works fine on my PC. Have you tried asking support?

Checking compatibility doesn't mean they check EVERY computer.
Ah, well. Only had one game that doesn't run on gog -> Deadlock 2. At least you can get a refund in store credit if the game doesn't run.

You can also get a refund in real cash, if you prefer.

Have you looked here: http://www.gog.com/forum/risk_of_rain
and here: http://www.gog.com/forum/jade_empire_special_edition ?

Is your pc ok? I mean updated, virus-free, within minimum requirements.

Have you contacted Gog support?
Also support for Risk of rain.
Yeah I had only one game not work, GOG tried very hard to help me sort it out, but to no avail, but they had no refund back then. My disc version runs perfectly though, so, while GOG are not infallible, they will try to help you get this sorted and if not you can get a refund, Personally I think that is above and beyond anything you will get on Steam, which only recently allowed refunds because they were breaking the law in some countries.
Well, here's a plug for Gog.NOT ONE GAME HAS FAILED ON MY PC FROM GOG.
Very odd that you are having issues with Risk Of Rain.. Been playing that game like a religion from day one on my pc without any issues beisdes a crash here and there which is nothing of worry.

what specs you have and os?
mini atx
330W
intel i3 4150
8GB RAM
nvidia GTX 750TI
60GB SSD 1TB HD
Win7

Well, according to some other players, risk of rain is messed up since the last update. So I probably have to wait for another update or buy it on steam :-/

And I also looked up some tips for jade empire, like forcing vsync with the claimfps change in the .ini data, xp mode, administrator mode, nothing works so far. My framerate while playing is probably around 2-3fps

It happens, really. There are games that work for others but not for me, for instance Tyrian (it's free, so no loss there) and Master of Orion 2. Both try to launch, then crash.

I am certain there will be other games in my library that do not work, but I haven't tried them all yet. Like I said, it happens.

As other people wrote, did you ask the support because right now it just looks like you didn't which might explain why GOG did not help you finding a solution yet (and if you did, allow them some time before getting back to you, they usually - in my case, always - do).

Out of curiosity, regarding "Risk of rain", how can buying on Steam fix it if it's an issue with the game?
Calling my PC a piece of shit is an insult to shit and Jade Empire runs great here.

Well okay I don't really like the game all that much, but that isn't my PCs, and certainly not GOG's fault.

On a side note, I'm very lonely, so while I haven't been ripped off I'd gladly bend over anyway! :D
I've had a few crashes, Witcher 3 before the latest patch, which could be explained away as it's a brand new game, but Darksiders did crash once or twice but only in the menus, not game play.
Other than that I cannot think of any other games on Gog that have been unstable.
GTA 5 on Steam did crash a few times before the patch, but again, new game.

Magic, or newer patches that GOG doesn't have yet maybe.
