GOG used to send an email confirmation for every gift redeemed by a user. This was an incredibly useful service, as it allowed one to keep track of all the games in their library that were gifted to them, including the gift code that was redeemed. In case of a hiccup in the game library and a game going missing, all it took was that email (the ID in the subject line) to get the issue resolved.

After the partial revamp of the site, GOG stopped sending out these emails, to the disappointment of many of us. With all the issues with our accounts and the various hiccups with our game libraries, the discussion of the usefulness of these emails keeps returning.

I've created a wishlist entry here.

Please vote for it, if you think this was a useful service that should return. You're also encouraged to leave a comment on the wishlist page.
Perhaps send a support ticket directing GOG to this thread and the related wishlist entry.

Thank you.

Cheers everyone. Let's keep it going, and you're more than encouraged to make a comment on the wishlist page. ;-)
Voted for this and the List of Gifts received wishlist as well.

(Has the wishlist section always said "Community Wishlist beta"? I don't remember seeing the beta part before.)

The important thing is to achieve a critical mass of votes and a reconsideration on GOG's side, don't you think?

It's been in beta since the beginning of time.

I see. I just never noticed the beta part before, but then I never really paid much attention to it, I suppose.

One thing I was wondering about...got to think about this in other threads where people talked about games which went missing.

How the hell do you guys notice?! :D
Especially if you have 200+ or so games in your library? How often do you check? Do you write down the number of games and only check to see if the same number is shown again the next time?

I probably wouldn't even notice if some game I wouldn't really care that much about would go missing. Of course I still remember most of the games I did buy, but still...
