Cleared and overhauled!

Breach & Clear: DEADline Rebirth, the real-time/tactical hybrid of an elite squad battling the horrible results of a nasty virus infestation, has been Rebirth-ed! For FREE! Developers Mighty Rabbit Studios went and injected the isometric shooter with a healthy dose of their Massive Changes mutagen, resulting in a much more fun and immersive experience. If you haven't tried the game before, your timing is impeccable - it's now 75% off for a week and so is its predecessor Breach & Clear!

Here are the main changes:

- Gameplay significantly modified and re-balanced with changes across the board: characters, enemies, weapons, gear, even the generated dungeons' layout!
- Smoother controls and better visual feedback on your enemies' gory deaths
- Significant visual upgrade: Breach & Clear: DEADline Rebirth now runs on Unity 5 and aside from the regular engine benefits, the lighting and textures have also been touched up
- Improved performance and better stability (thanks to the removal of the unreliable online co-op)

So don't sit around and wait for the virus to overtake us, commander! Harbor City needs you and -despite the mutants flooding the streets- it looks better than ever!
The 75% discount will last until November 25, 3:59 PM UTC.
Note: The Linux version of Rebirth is currently being worked on and will be available soon.

micktiegs_8: I expressed my disappointment with their complete lack of communication across all fronts, and their disregard for GOG.

timppu: I don't see that much point still harping on it, as if the GOG version is still abandoned.

I was genuinely surprised by the reactions when this update came.
The reaction I had in the update thread was really the first thing that came to mind. Maybe because it was the last place I left off, with discussion of this game and its developer. Still catching up, I suppose; but my feelings will no doubt change once I fire it up to play again. At least I hope they will, but after looking at some of the reception on Steam I'll be keeping my expectations in check.
I see here mostly theoretical discussions... I'd like to see some confirmation if the game
after the update is indeed stable, free of major bugs and worth buying at the discounted price.

I have the base game on GOG (and Steam, it was in a Humble Bundle), and I'd rather buy the sequel on GOG than with DRM even if I have to pay extra. But only if it's worth the money.

Tactical turn-based games are amongst my favorites (mostly old X-Com, and Xenonauts), so there's a good chance I'd buy the game if it isn't totally broken.

But: "Note: The Linux version of Rebirth is currently being worked on and will be available soon. "
So apparently it still IS broken. Oh well, I'll just wait until maybe the Christmas sale and see what "soon" means, and by that time maybe there will be some confirmation from the community as to the current state of the game.

Well, the fact that the Steam version is 90% off while it's only 75% off here tells me how well they view Steam users versus GoG users. I also take that as an indicator on how well they'll keep their game up to date here - we are clearly not as important as Steam users.

@GOG.com : the link to Breach & Clear is broken and needs to be fixed.

For me the major difference in discounts (final price) between Steam and here is the overriding factor why I will not be buying these games from any platform.

Indeed it was. Fixed now, thanks!
The things in the OP aside, how is this version better than the previous one? I mean gameplay wise. All present GOG reviews are still about the old version. Has anybody played it already and could share his experience?

I forget, does this series have GOGchievements?

Store page says it does.

BKGaming: More than likely given the age of the game, they probably won't be updating it anymore anyway unless some game breaking bugs appears in this version.
The previous version was updated rather often, the GOG version saw a lot less attention. Some go as far as to call it "abandoned"...

Thanks!

I don't even like achievements, but it just feels cheap if the Steam version has it and the GOG one doesn't.
I was seriously considering buying these, but then I saw the 90% discount on Steam. Lame. I don't use Steam, so I'll just wait patiently until they are 90% off.
75% off is good enough for me. If GOG priced it there, I'm guessing there's a good reason. DRM-free isn't always the same cost to GOG, as it is to Valve or Origin or. . .

*shudder* Games for Windows Live. *retch* *cringe*

Plus they got to cover operating costs. Think I might pick this one up.
