Wooh, thanks, I'm in!

Yeah, BoUT was a really fun experience. One of the few not-really-indie adventure game releases in the past few years that was actually enjoyable to play. I enjoyed the humour, the art, the whole package. To be totally honest, the pixel-hunting in some portions bothered me a bit, but at least they TRIED to improve detection in CC. I hope they did their best to remove it all together in the new game.
In, thanks and +1

The last adventure game I played was Primordia, mainly the plot was the great thing about it - cyber punk disutopian kind of thing.
I'm in! I loved the first Book of Unwritten Tales, it was one of the games that got me nack into adventure games, together with the Monkey Island Special Editions.

I have been playing many adventure games lately. In fact of late I'm mostly playing adventure games. There was The Critter Chronicles (the Book of Unwritten Tales Prequel) that I enjoyed a lot, The Sam & Max games form Telltale (I especially liked the second season) and Ben There, Dan That & Time Gentlemen, Please!, a great throwback to classic Lucasarts games.

But the best were definately the Daedalic games, the Deponia Trilogy and Chains of Satinav. Deponia is a phenomenal comedy-adventure, with crazy characters, fun puzzles and a really interesting, unique setting. In my opinion it's one of the best game series of the last decade. And Chains of Satinav is a beautiful fairy tale, with wonderful graphics, nice story, very likeable protagonists and it's just superb in how it makes one really feel like a part of a classic fantasy story, something from Lord Dunsany or Lloyd Alexander.

I'm in! Thanks for the great giveaway!

The last adventure game I finished was Book of Unwritten Tales, in preparation for the release of the second one. The last one I played was Broken Sword 1, because I've owned it forever and never played it. I've also got a game about halfway through Deponia that I haven't touched in about a month.
awesome! I'm in! Thank you & +1! :D

I haven't played an adventure game in a long time.. can't even remember what it was..
Right now I'm somewhere in the middle of Aventuria, questing through the regions around the Kingdom of Angergast - I'm playing Daedalic's Chains of Satinav, which is my first experience with the worlds of the Dark Eye. Geron, the hero, and Nuri, his fairy companion, are currently in Enqui, running a series of small deceptions on the Honest Merchant Harm (and, in Nuri's case, taking an awful lot of baths).

I had a terrible time playing Daedalic's A New Beginning, which was so clunky and flat - a lot of the problem appears to be with the translation and voicing in English - that I barely made it to the end. I was a little leery of starting another game by Daedalic, even though I own a whole mess of them. Chains is a real contast, however: it's fun!

It's a point-and-click adventure, so of course it's fiddly and full of unlikely Rube-Goldberg solutions to simple problems; never let a point-and-click hero make the lunch plans, or you might find yourself pouring honey on the wait station to distract the staff while you upend a nearby table onto bystander customers, who will complain to a passing health inspector as they leave, which will cause the health inspector to come in and find all of the wait staff with sticky hands, causing him to issue a citation which will cause the next couple to enter to cancel their reservations, leaving an empty table. ("Did you remember to make reservations?" "No, but don't worry, I have a plan.")

The art is gorgeous in this game - that was the strong point of A New Beginning as well - but in this one the lush, pretty backgrounds comfortably house an entertaining game. Nuri, a fairy envisioned as a sort of post-hippie free spirit, is in particular a terrific character, prettily voiced and delightfully silly. I like the story, though it's a pretty standard adventure deal. I wish the backgrounds were a little more interactive, but hey, it's the nature of the beast. Anyway, Chains is a good play, and I'm really enjoying it.

Count me in for the Unwritten Tales, please, and thank you!

Wow, great giveaway! I am in please.

The last adventure game I played was Rex Nebular and the Cosmic Gender Bender, which I finished just a week or so ago. What I found the most fun in that game was finding all of the multitude of hilariously gory ways in which to die :D!

Thank you zavlin :)!!

Really? I agree it's not nearly as good as Deponia or Chains of Satinav, simply not in the same league, but I still liked it. I liked the main character, and actually thought his voice actor did a pretty good job (I admit, some of the others did not), and the story was fine, a little cliched, but still had a nice twist near the end that I did not see coming. And it played fine, classic point & click done properly. The only thing I hated about it were the mini-games, and I just ended up skiping most of them.

For me that's part of the charm of classic adventure games, picking up everything that isn't nailed down and coming up with all the crazy plans. And the Daedalic games are well designed, once I got a feeling for them I was able to finish them without looking at any walkthroughs.

I'm in. Thank you for the giveaway!

The last adventure game I've played was Chaos on Deponia. It was fun, because the writing is very humorous (sometimes even over the top) and the German voice acting is top notch and so the witty lines often made me laugh.

Have to say that it wasn't as good as the first one though, because they made the leading character even more egocentric and unlikable. Hope he will become friendlier in the last game again.
I suppose I'm an odd one out in that way, then...so far I've not liked most Daedalic adventure games I've tried (to be fair, I haven't gotten very far in any, but then in my defense, I wasn't at all motivated to)- the tone, the pace, the style of puzzling, the "feel" of the engine- it all didn't sync with me.
In contrast to that, BoUT was literally a joy to play and explore.

lol.... well.. bad news.... rufus's jerk levels are the highest in the third game. They do kind of explain it though. But the third game is actually kind of offensive to some people... i still liked it.

It was the worst game I can remember playing in years - I actually hated it. It was released broken, and even in its current "fixed" state it's full of inattentive nonsense - dialogue options slip into French and Russian in the later game for no reason, and the dreadful translation that frequently left me completely unable to fathom what was supposed to happen and what many objects were. And some puzzles - not the mini-games, which were also dreadful - can't be solved if you make a wrong choice early on.

Example: in the (lame) puzzle about monkeying around with the - no spoilers - various options available to get someone out of his office, if you open the patio door while you are trying to figure out what the hell the game wants to happen, you can't close the door again. It gives you the option, but stops you from doing it ("You're too close," or somesuch). It actually TELLS you to close the door. But you can't. Only choice is a reload. Elsewhere, the savegame problem that stopped players from playing the end at all still affects some even now; Daedalic's "fix" is a downloadable savegame that jumps a player past the trouble point.

I'm not going to get into this in detail, but look at the user reviews here and on Steam. My experience is very common among people playing in English (apparently the game is very different in its original German). The voicing on Bent and Faye is so bad that I was half convinced by the end of the game that they were speech synthesizers; every few hours one of them would come up with an inflection, though, so they can't be. The idea is great, the format is cool, the story is often decent. The art is often splendid. The execution I found to be incompetent and poorly managed. It looked to me very much like the game was taken away from its original dev team to be finished by people who didn't know what was going on and didn't care.

If you liked it, that's great. It was my first Daedalic game, and it was very nearly my last. I love adventure games; sometimes I check walkthroughs, because I don't have the kind of time I used to have back in the day, and if the game is really good and I'm involved in it, I'll go a long way trying to solve my situations clean. In New Beginning I quickly disliked both Bent and Faye, and the supporting characters were for the most part even worse - getting to the end was a slogging chore.

Well, one man's food is another man's poison :) I guess big part of it is the fact I was pretty lucky, as I didn't run into any serious issues while playing it. I think the game crashed once, and there was maybe on line of dialogue that was "given" to the wrong character, but that was not enough to make me angry at the game as w whole.

I actually really like Rufus. He is a jerk, but it lends very well to comedy, and he is a very likeable jerk. First of all, his attitude can be understood when you think about how he grew up- deserted by his foster father, and ridicouled by everyone at home for his plans to follow his "dad" and go to Elysium. But I mostly like him because unlike most characters around him, he is very proactive. Everyone else seems content to just sit around on all the Deponia's trash and Rufus, for good or ill, is the only guy with ambitions, dreams and the will put it into motion. And even though he keeps failing he keeps trying again.
