blotunga: Passwords can be spoofed. There are keyloggers or other means of getting them. I prefer 2FA

tinyE: Which is why optional is stressed. My nearest email program is on the other side of the building. I'm not hauling my ass over there every time I log on. Sorry! :P
I have nothing against an extra android app either... Anyway i agree, as with Galaxy, it should be optional, but nice to have. Especially when traveling in dubious countries where i'm always stressed when i use some open wifi.

What is an android app? And don't laugh, I'm serious.

App is short for application, or "computer software application program" as it was so nicely called in the beginning of personal computing.
Android is the OS running on most of the smartphones today, like Windows on your computer.

An application that you keep on your phone. It can be used also to generate authentication codes if needed. Or to get them from a server.

OH! Well I live in a dead zone so I don't have a phone.

Thanks for humoring me though.

Yes, passwords can be spoofed, and you could have a keylogger installed in your system. In the event that you do have a keylogger installed on your system, I wouldn't hesitate to state that your security practices are ineffective and your online accounts were bound to be cracked regardless of any steps you may have taken.

I just wanted to stress optional. Security is at your own discretion and I have found that I am content with my method in the present time.

You are connected to the Internet so with all sane precautions still vulnerable. You can remain ignorant, but do you think if some groups can infect hdd firmwares for example, nobody else can? I think a healthy dose of paranoia is better.

mrkgnao: And if I may add one more to the list:
- How about finally getting our lost PMs back?
I've debated long if I should include this one in my post, decided to not at the last moment as I don't know if Johny. is the one handling this part of the chat.

But I'm with you, I won't let GOG forget it, I'm just waiting for the season holiday to be officially over.

tfishell: Thanks. It'd be nice if there was a way for users to decide this, though. :)

Johny.: I agree and I suspect more comments on that - so - please note that most probably we will add some kind of options in the future (hopefully not too distant future).
I just spent the past five minutes laughing at the video in that link!
