pimpmonkey2382.313: Something should be done about the abused rep system also.
Like... simply removing this useless number? GOG could add this to their CSS file:

.b_u_rep {
display: none;
}
Rep would still be there, technically, but no one would see it anymore ;)

edit: changed ".b_u_rep_h" to ".b_u_rep"

Anything that would enrage that idiotic scammer.

Johny.: Hello dear users.
Nice! Thank you.

I'm working on that. I got one of them booted already and I have yet begun to fight!

Should have figured they wouldn't reply about that, as they never do.

Johny.: Hello dear users. This info may interest you or even make some of you happy, and since it is blocking-related I will put it here.

We have changed conversation/contact list order on GOG.com chat page. It's sorted based on these criteria now: User not blocked, There are unread messages, Is user online, Last activity

In other (more human) words: Unread on top (whether online or offline - yay), then online, offline - and blocked users on the very bottom with "Blocked" info (yay2). The rest is ordered by last message time.

Some of you may notice that in some browsers message text looked blurred sometimes - that's fixed.

Cyraxpt: Hi there my good sir, i have an enquiry for you, have you seen your colleague Ciris lately? She promised a Q&A with the GOG team and half a year later still nothing.

I was goign to ask about a support ticket that i've sent 3 weeks ago but i'm guessing it's also pointless, so... meh.
Please PM me the Support ticket number :)

Just wanted to report that I got just now a new chat from someone who was offline and he was not listed first, but rather exactly as before towards the middle of the list, as the first offline.

May I make a recommendation: remove online/offline from the order altogether.

Yes - that's because opening it cleared the unread count. Removing online/offline ordering would solve that, but it's handy. Configurable (including manual) sorting would be of great use, but see this post. I thought about sticking the user in place after opening the conversation, but that would create other problems.
We will consider covering this single (and most often) scenario of the first-opened conversation (simply stick to top if was unread or opened on purpose via tooltip or link).

What do you think about that?

tfishell: Thanks. It'd be nice if there was a way for users to decide this, though. :)

Johny.: I agree and I suspect more comments on that - so - please note that most probably we will add some kind of options in the future (hopefully not too distant future).
Cool. Admittedly there are probably some more important user options that should take precedence - sorting reviews by newest, ability to edit own reviews, links to game forums on game cards, GOGMix page in account, enlarge the chat scroll bar (so it's easier to grab), let users resize the chat box to their preference (for those of us who sometimes write long messages), etc. :)

I assumed that was the reason.

Handy for what? I find it utterly footy.

That would work. What about removing the "unread" indication when moving out of the thread/chat, rather than when entering it?

I also want "Pangaea" and "Keweenaw" as options on the 'From' menu. :D

Cheers, this is certainly a step into the right direction.

Unread should stay at the top, no matter what.

Options as to the order are very welcome. My biggest gripe with this online/offline nonsense is that people I haven't talked to in ages or don't talk to frequently keep jumping to the top; an option to switch this behaviour off would be very much appreciated.

Three more things:
- Could we please get back basic user info, like registration date and rep? Sooner than soon™?
- How difficult is it to have usernames display in non-capital form? It'd make it harder for impersonating accounts to exploit the chat system.
- Any chance of blocking users via their avatar pop-up menu or via a function similar to the "Invite New Friend" one? It makes no sense to add them to one's contacts list first.
