There are two things that matter to all of us gamers: the games we play and the friends we play them with. But as more titles come with dedicated launchers and clients, our games and gaming buddies become scattered in between them. With GOG GALAXY 2.0, you’ll be able to combine multiple libraries into one and connect with your friends across all gaming platforms!

As gamers, we need to juggle between multiple clients to access our games and see what our friends are playing,” says Piotr Karwowski, Managing Director at GOG. “We believe gamers deserve a better experience, and this became the driving force to redefine GOG GALAXY client,” Karwowski adds. “GOG GALAXY 2.0 is designed for all gamers and extends well beyond existing GOG.COM users, into both PC and console platforms.

Once you connect GOG GALAXY 2.0 with other platforms, it will import all your games into one library. You will see your friends activities and online status across connected platforms. All new library and friends features apply to your GOG.COM games and enhance your experience. And it’s designed to protect your privacy – your data belongs to you and will never be shared with third parties. We see it as an all-in-one solution for the present-day gamer.

Experience GOG GALAXY 2.0 yourself — sign up for the closed beta at www.gogalaxy.com and be among the first to get access to it!

Good for those that use Galaxy, I guess?

Galaxy being (and staying) optional is the only feature I care and will care about.
Very interesting... :)

GOG.com: There are two things that matter to all of us gamers: the games we play *and the friends we play them with.*
And yet, no mention of any sort of cross-platform multiplayer functions.

I seriously need to ask: is this thing optional, I hope. There is no way I want to sync all that.

This is exactly what we need. THANK YOU!! We love you!

StarChan: I'm worried about the offline innstallers. What are your long term plans for those? Is there any chance that you could heighten their status by increasing their visibility?
No need to worry, we are DRM-free first and foremost and there aren't any plans to change that, it won't happen :)
The client remains optional and not required to play your DRM-free GOG games.

Ex steamtards will be happy .
Will there still be a way to show only the GOG games, filtered by GOG tags, and have it be the default view?

wormholewizards: Just go to your Games profile, click on your game card, has been that way since forever.. is not visible enough? Man, that's some level of paranoia
Several of us are concerned about this. GOG has stated that the two are equal options, but the visual representation on the game's download page says otherwise.

Take your passive-aggressiveness elsewhere.
question: I use Galaxy but I don't use Steam. what does this update have to offer me? thanks!

Finally i'll be able to launch the DOS version of Earth 2140 with the non-broken AI from Galaxy. Thank you.

As a matter of fact, some of us were just discussing and requesting a solution earlier:

You don't have to connect any external platform and have only GOG games. You can of course filter out platforms in your library even if you connect them. You can also bookmark your custom filters to the sidebar.

Ah, so that's what you guys have been working on instead of fixing the broken website. PRIORITIES!

I appreciate the feature to import games, though. Now I can import all the games I was forced to buy on Steam because you rejected them and pretend that I got them here and your "curation" isn't actually a sorry farce. Well done! *slowclap*

Thanks for the question, and the response.
