"Lone Soldier" for the PS1. It was a horrible horrible game. Bad graphics and bad mechanics. But I enjoyed it and finished it several times.

Anyone tried it?

dick1982: well, if you compare it to modern shooters or modern wrpgs, with rail-roaded plot progression, shallow dumbed-down game-mechanics and more GREY BROWN BLOOOOM!!!! ... it's a fucking under-rated work of art.
The main problem was the ATROCIOUS dumbing down from the first game. At least the story was good.

F4LL0UT: Chaos Legion. A seemingly universally disliked slasher game from Capcom in the vein of the Devil May Cry series. Each review I've seen of it was awful and yet it was one of the best and most addictive gameplay experiences I've ever had. Loved both the gameplay and the unique setting.
I check metacritic and it seems most user like the game.

Even though reviewers don't like it I will not say it is dislike by most people.

I like Chaos legion more then Devil may cry
Hum... I can think to three title like theses :

Alpha Protocol
Of Orcs and Men
Deus Ex : Invisible War.

Also the design of the main character was terrible.

Then again, it's few votes and it's quite common that the users who post reviews of a game few people have even heard about are the ones who feel it is underrated, the ones who didn't like it probably didn't even bother to write about it. I can think of a number of titles of this kind such as Vietcong. Surely its user score would be worse if the game had seen larger advertising campaigns, better press and higher sales.

Speaking of which, Vietcong is another game that few people seemed to really like while it's one of my favourite games ever.

Me too. Both the setting and gameplay war far more engaging to me than in the DMC series.

I really liked Far Cry 2, that's a pretty minority opinion. Haven't played the next two because uplay.

Not as minor as you think. I think it's maybe 50/50; I don't know. But what I do know, is that I personally love that game. Other than malaria being annoying every now and then, there's not much else that I dislike about the game.

I never really took umbrage with gun jamming or respawning enemies.

I'm also with you about the last point about Uplay. Although, from what I've seen of 3 and 4, they aren't quite on the same page as 2.
I really liked Duke Nukem Forever. For some reason.

I wanted to. Sadly, Far Cry 2 sorta kicked off the walking/driving simulator with a bang. Hey devs, if you're gonna cut out fast travel and make me walk to every location, at least make the travel interesting enough to stay awake. Walking across the entire continent of Africa while suffering from malaria isn't exactly what I had in mind for a good time.

But Far Cry 3 is much better. They finally got rid of the malaria.
