MorphysLaw: I'm rather iffy on Path of Exile myself. When I played it, everything was click-based. Attacks, moving around, talking, doing anything at all... everything required the same action of me, which made it not only boring, but very tedious, because multi-tasking was made all the harder for it (no positioning for a better attack, for instance). After a few hours, I quit, because it just had this huge barrier in front of all of its depth that every other player has talked to me about.e

Crewdroog: PoE is the best diablo 2 clone ever, so of course it is only going to be clicking. *scratches head* i don't know how you could expect anything else. that said, i loved the game bc that's exactly what it was. a clicky, loot-fest. honestly, i still can't understand how Blizzard hasn't sued the pants off of them for copyright violations (music, enemies, etc).
I hadn't heard of PoE being a Diablo clone at the time (over 2 years ago by now), and I've never played any of the Diablo games, so I went in without any expectations.

You must be fun at parties.

Must be nice living in that world where you pay for food you've eaten only if you liked it.

paladin181: Forsooth It's what Diablo 3 COULD have been.

rtcvb32: Hmmm I'm still bummed about Diablo 3. I remember hearing about it coming out and for 6 months or so before it's launch i was sorta excited... But the Always-Online has seriously made me hate Blizzard in their entirety...
Or what you could do is step out of the cave and try the game?

monkeydelarge: Yes, the level of dishonesty is very annoying. They need to stop using the fucking word "free" unless everything is free.
I KNOW RIGHT?!

It is so dishonest to give you a flipping game for FREE when to develop it it cost the developers MILLIONS of god damn coins.

HOW DARE THEY ask for at least some compensation by releasing additional cosmetic content that people have to pay for. I mean, HOW DARE THEY ASK FOR MONEY FOR FOOD?!

You got it all wrong. They are not giving anyone, free games. Instead, they lie and say they are offering free games when they are only offering you demo versions basically. And then, if you want the full game, you are FORCED to pay a massive amount of money for it. Nobody is "asking" for any compensation. There is a difference between forcing someone to give you money for a game and asking someone to give you money for a game. And I'm not saying there is anything wrong with people FORCING people to give them money for games. I have a problem with the dishonesty. So why are you defending people being dishonest to people? Do you think all gamers are scum while all corporations, publishers and devs are gods and goddesses to be worshipped, who can do no wrong?

Not sure who you are talking about. Me or Elenarie. I'm not a troll even though I have been guilty of trolling once in awhile in the past(just like almost everyone else here). But my main reason for being here, has nothing to do with trolling.

Yeah, what else would you call a game that is missing 95% of it's content? And most "free" games are actually worse than demo versions because they don't let you have any fun with them unless you pay $$$. A demo version will at least let you have some fun with it.

monkeydelarge: Yep. That is how I discovered they are worthless shit. I play them and then come to a point where I have to spend money in order to not grind for the next 10 years of my life or I play them and then come to a point where I have to spend money in order to compete with other players or I play them and then come to a point where I have to spend money in order to experience more than 5% of the game. And I'm not talking about a little bit of money but a lot of fucking money. They are all designed to cost you over $100 at least in order to not be worthless shit.
This is actually very true. I enjoyed for some time the Ghost Recon F2P. I found it nice, because I wasn't that underpowered without wasting money. The game gave you some stuff and some boosters, which were nice. I didn't think at the moment they were that important. But when I was promoted (and thus I was playing with more "veteran players" (people paying) and the boosts ended, I found myself in HUGE disadvantage. I needed to grind a lot for levels and, even if I could mantain decent scores, their weapons were starting to show how much better they were against the free / defaults. So even if not totally unplayable, it turned the "pretty decent exprience" to a "not really worthy one", fucking up the game.

Was not talking about you. I was just warning you about wasting too much time with someone well known for being a Microsoft fanboy, among other things.

And you know: you cannot possibly be a Microsoft fanboy, if you are sane in your own mind. Or if you are not a troll :-P

Can i play it without an internet connection? And i'm not referring to the console releases... Although i am tempted to get one second hand (which won't give blizzard any money)

There is no such thing as a second hand Battle.net 2.0 game. You'd have to buy a whole Battle.net account.

Then i refuse to buy/play it, quite simply. Being able to play and mod my games offline is one of my highlights of games. Zy-el is still one of my favorites, although i wish i could hire monkeys to run around and pick up all the gold that drops while on 127 players...
