SONY has PlayStation Mobile on PC for publishing and selling their video games from the PlayStation Vita for the PC.

Now it looks like possibly even their first party video games "may" get released for sale for PC.

More or less true to the SteamDB leaks of 2 days ago.

Now we have this.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1152788

Scroll down to comment #3 and look at the last video game River City Super Sports Challenge ~All Stars Special~

Then there is this from Shu Yoshida yesterday console debut means it will appear for sale for other consoles later on too.

I think the age of console exclusives is over and PC will get all console exclusive video games sold sooner or later.

Something like timed exclusive video games sold for consoles for 1 year then release for sale for PC.

So here's to hoping for Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Uncharted: Fight for Fortune, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, Bloodborne, and so on and so on to be released for sale for PC.

I know I will purchase them all from gog.com, whenever Microsoft, Nintendo, and SONY sell their video games on PC on gog.com.

I'm never gonna purchase consoles, handhelds or mobile video games. I purchase all video games on PC only.
The Steam database sounds unreliable these days. Oh wait, it always was.
I guess that's something to look forward to...but chances are I'll be dead by the time that happens.
I cannot believe I predicted this and people said that this would never happen.

All that is left is Nintendo and I think even Nintendo will port their video games to the PC in the next fifteen years.

If Nintendo bows out, I would sooner say there is something seriously wrong with the Japanese economy at large. They've been around for 136 years, and I think they'd sooner last 136 more.

I can't believe it took you over 10 years to react to your own prediction.

I'm guessing we'll be reading about you again sometime around 2037? :-D

Maybe a year or two before that we'll get The Last of Us, Marvel's Spider-Man, Horizon Forbidden West. ;)

What? SONY started porting their video games to PC in 2019 starting with Death Stranding.

The reason it took me so long to respond to this topic is because I barley talk and it took me a while to find it.

I would say it's far more likely that both Xbox and PlayStation consoles will die (and get replaced by Phones, PC and Streaming), while Nintendo will carry on with consoles and exclusives, than it is for Nintendo to release their games for PC.

Pfft. As you can see by this topic I made in 2015. I am a time traveler I have seen the future. Also I am able to play Nintendo video games on PC in the after life.
If all console games were allowed to be published on PC, the console market would soon come to an end...

It is in the best interest of those companies to keep their games exclusive to their systems. One reason is that they can continue to sell their hardware, as long as that remains profitable.

No, because there are many people do not want to deal with PCs, OSs, drivers, hardware thingamabobs, separate workstation and monitors. What they want is simple plug-and-play, something they can plug into the TV in the living room, sit down on the sofa, press play, and start playing right away. This is partly way Steam Deck is so successful, it is a handheld console that plays PC games right out of the box.

If you had a console that could play PC games (hello, Steam Machine) and deliver that same thing, it would tap into that market. Becuase there is a large group of people who enjoy playing games but simply do not want to touch a traditional PC setup. This is where many console providers are heading now, no longer focusing on exclusive games, but instead on hardware that offers the easiest experience, and games as plug-and-play services that work across platforms to maximise number of players.
Linux will rule the world!
Or at least it wants to. I mean, who wouldn't? It is just common sense.

Well, SteamOS is a fork of Arch. So if we continue working together for total Steam dominance, then that will happen!

The last video games console I purchased was the PlayStation 2 (PS2) in 2000. It has been twenty six years since I last purchased a video games consoles. No matter how many exclusive video games the original Xbox, the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 (PS3), the Nintendo GameCube, the Nintendo Wii, the Nintendo Wii U, the PlayStation 4 (PS4), the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 Pro (PS4), the Xbox One X, the PlayStation 5 (PS5), the Xbox Series, and the PlayStation 5 Pro (PS5) all had with their upgrades to make their video games look better. I just kept on saving my money to purchase PC parts and PC versions of video games on the PC.

According to this revenue-report... in which Sony is with nearly 3 times more revenue vs. Nintendos gaming business, we still are far away from Nintendos "total game console-dominance". However... a major part of Sony`s and as well MS`s gaming revenue is nowadays multi-platform... so, including PCs and whatelse.

Or in other words: Yes, Sony is, apart from Steam (on PC), the probably biggest "single player" in the game industry, which is as well the main reason someone like AMD want to work together with Sony on hardware/software-development. It will give AMD access to many software and even hardware-support. There are now close to 95 million PS5 consoles sold and this value is still going up, so the console demand and development is still alive and healthy.

Despite the fact that the hardware industry was a big nuisance toward Sony on many occasions during the time of the PS5 era: In the beginning the issue with the Minning-PCs and a big GPU and hardware shortage... and now the big RAM and SSD shortage because of AI/Datacenter-industries, so the PS5 is produced during a difficult era in which hardware in general is not cheap.

Your views are clearly through the glasses of true-PC lovers and this is fine, although it is surely no ultimate truth.

Oh and GOG is below 100 million revenue, so it is not even top 85, sadly. It is a "niche-platform" if it comes to the revenue. GOG is perhaps around 50 million revenue, but with some more success it may slowly grow toward 100 million. The predictions are not bad because GOG was never owning a library that big and with many quality-games, they simply need to improve on many spots and yes... including Linux-support.

Anyway, sure, Nintendo remains "powerful" and with many lawyers, so i would not upset them else it will cause troubles to anyone doing it.
