Starting today, GOG Patrons can cast votes to determine which genre should be favored in the GOG Preservation Program – join them, and decide what we save next!

If you're a GOG Patron, your votes will help us shape our priorities, evaluate the urgency of our Preservation Program across a diverse range of genres, and possibly create future lists of titles to vote on during the next Patrons Voting.

This time around, you get to choose between classic CRPGs, immersive sims, real-time strategy, classic adventure games, or old-school shooters.

Cast your stars and help preserve gaming history!

Patrons should be able to suggest games for the Preservation Program. And I'm not talking about mindlessly asking for a pointless sticker to be slapped on a favourite game. There are games that are actually broken on GOG (and / or Steam too), but are easily fixable. Patrons should be allowed to submit such games, along with fix instructions. It would be beneficial for everyone and it would give you an advantage over Steam.

I do wonder however if in a hypothetical scenario "patrons" vote for real-time strategy. How are you planning to deal with EA? last i checked C&C (one of the best RTS games series) is in the paws of EA, who more than obviously doesn't want anything to do with GoG.

These votes are for which EXISTING GAME is gonna get the PP sticker. This is not the Dreamlist. C&C games are not on GOG and so they have nothing to do with this.

Also GOG changing this from voting on specific games to genres probably makes it easier for them to point at whatever they were already working on and say "There you go, you voted for this".

GOG, here is a suggestion from a dirty peasant that won't ever pay for your subscription service: focus on the era of gaming that has the most compatibility issues, late 90s early 2000s.

You know, that era of gaming where everyone has to rely on external patches to make DirectX 8 and earlier work on modern systems, or games that use really ancient technology that no longer works, etc.

But hey, maybe you can make your patrons vote next time for another arbitrary thing to justify them paying.
