It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Vitek: Do you have Fireofx version 38.0.1 as well?
So far only thing that worked was to roll back to older version, so it seems to be tied to it.

I tried to create new profile, reinstall new version and use fresh profile (thanks GOG for setting the site to russian for some reason there), use new profile delete all old setting (after backing it up) and only to install very old version I had on drive worked by I suspect even slightly old version would work as it worked til yesterday.
I'm actually still on Firefox 37.0.2 due to some issues a few other users had with the latest Firefox version on GOG, and didn't want to risk it as my account seems prone to suffer from all possible glitches and bugs GOG can possibly roll out.
But I think that mrkgnao is on the latest version, and has no issues.

But if it worked till yesterday, and no update happened in the meantime, you must have been already on version 38.0.1, so not sure if it's a version issue.

I could do a test and see for myself though.

HypersomniacLive: That's not nice. OK, make a back up of your profile, than go to about:support and do a refresh. Then install Greasemonkey and BE.

FF 38.0.1 here and no problem.
When you say "install very old version" do you mean of FF or of BE?

No need to apologise, I understood you just fine. Could you check something, please? If you open your add-ons page, do you see Greasemonkey installed? What version does it say that it is? Now go to your scripts section - do you see BE installed and enabled? What version does it say that it is?

Firefox.
Namely 23.0 which is almost 2 years old (time I was reinstalling OS and made folder of bunch of programs I'll need to install).

OK, I just installed Firefox 38.0.1, and my main profile, BE included, works just fine.
*Sigh*
I hate computers. (I don't :-))

I'll try to kick it tomorrow and see if it will help.
I forgot how bad GOG is without the Essentials. No quick reply? How can people live without that? No hotkeys for tags?!!

Just stopping by to say that my Barefoot Essentials stopped functioning overnight as well. I don't really have the time to troubleshoot unfortunately, but I thought I'd let you know I'm experiencing problems as well. I'm on Firefox 38.0.1 too.

Puzzled as to what's going on here. I wonder if it's something related to the non-English versions of Firefox, or the EME-version of it, or a combination perhaps.

My BE 2.2.2 stopped working yesterday as well. Greasemonkey 3.2, FF 38.0.1 - both the latest they update to.
high rated
I don't usually use BE, but: doesn't work, I get a "TypeError: saved_settings is null" in the console. It reports a few places (lines) where this (presumably) happens, and it's the settings.initialise function. Basically, it tries to load some stuff via GM's API, and this fails for some reason. Following up on that, I tried opening the database file in which this stuff gets saved, but that didn't provide anything useful. Went back to look at the code, and there was a line in there that was suspicious, so I commented it out. Tadaaa.

For reference to anyone interested, excuse the formatting:

initialise: function(initial_values, done) {

var saved_settings = {}
try {
var s = GM_getValue('settings')
if (s !== undefined) saved_settings = JSON.parse(s)
If you comment out the last line (prefix //), it lights up. Of course, since I'm not a regular user, I have no idea if it does everything it's supposed so, but I see the old logo and quick reply functionality.

Edit:
OK, so I had to mess with it a bit more. The above works fine if you don't have any settings you've saved. The suspicious line was there because the author stored the settings as JSON. Blah blah blah, here's the (fully) functioning version:

initialise: function(initial_values, done) {

var saved_settings = {}
try {
var s = GM_getValue('settings', '{}')
if (s) { saved_settings = JSON.parse(s); }

I've been trying to bring some attention to this, as the script has stopped working on Firefox ever since one of the newer Greasemonkey updates was released for the extension.

Guess we need Barefoot_Monkey back, he'd likely be able to fix this pretty quick ;) I had forgotten how awful the non-enhanced forum is, posting without the extra functions of BE.

I have both the latest version of Firefox and Greasemonkey installed, and BE never stopped working for me at any point, and from what I read I'm not the only one without issues. It might be a combination of things on people's specific setups.

hyperagathon made a suggestion. Did anyone having trouble with BE tried it?
