With our RPG Month still going strong, we have another surprise for you in the form of an RPG Contest! This time we want you to think about a video game skill you would like to have in real life and explain why.

The best answers will win 1 of 15 game bundles, including 9 titles such as Windbound, Tyranny, Disco Elysium and more!

You have time to enter the contest until September 30th, 3 PM UTC.
The ability to rewind time. To be able to reach a spot in life where you're not sure of what the outcome is going to be, based on a decision you have to make, and knowing it wouldn't matter, because if things don't work out good based on your decision, just rewind! So many scenarios you could take part in, "I'm going to snowboard, ski, toboggan down this hill at full speed, and if I get hurt, I'll just rewind!" Think of the exhilarating, amazing, scarey, life threatening situations you could safely experience! The possibilities are endless!
I think being able to suddenly get stronger and more inteligent because I brought someone pie or found their frying pan would be great :D

Not smart enough to study astrophysics.
Walk someone's dog.
Find lost letter opener.
Level up.
Invest all points in intelligence.
Win Nobel prize for explaining string theory with string cheese.

Town Lore (from Dragon Wars, the ingenious 1989 Interplay game).

The great thing about Lores in Dragon Wars was that sometimes, they just kicked in by themselves if you had a high enough level of the respective Lore, and the character said what they had just learned from their surroundings.

Living in a 1000+ year old city, I'd want to have Town Lore to discover all the mysterious, moving, fascinating, or plain great stories that are now lost in the mists of the city's history.
In Shovel Knight you can break things and they turn into gems that would be awesome I would never be poor with that skill.in real life
I'd want to be able to reshuffle my class, skill points, and perks at will and at no cost.

Monday: Barbarian time. Decimating an orc army or two should be a good way to get out of the Monday rut.
Tuesday: Cleric. To unwind after the stress of Monday's bloodbaths, and atone for my sins.
Wednesday: Assassin. The one day I'm neither recovering from last weekend nor gearing up for the next, so I better get some work done.
Thursday: Rogue. Mad pickpocketing skills = mad gold for Friday.
Friday. Dwarven blacksmith. Who else would you rather be when hitting the tavern on a Friday night?
Saturday: Wizard. To deal with the hangover from yesterday's night.
On Sundays I can be my old boring self. Y'know, just to keep myself grounded.
A weightless infinite inventory sure sounds great for traveling!
Pet Pal from Divinity: Original Sin comes to mind after the obvious teleporting and time-based abilities.
I'd love to be able to directly express to my cats just how much I love them, better understand what bothers them, and to be able to come to an agreement when they start misbehaving.

That and simply making small talk with wild and farm animals sounds pleasant.
To press a button and see where objects of interest are hidden.
I'd like the story quest log and an active waypoint on my map.

Like what am I even supposed to be doing in real life?

I forgot what the objective was awhile ago and have just been kinda wandering around.
Hello everyone!

What video game skill I would like to have in real life?

Well, that would be learning new things rapidly either by putting some (experience) points into the corresponding ability/skill/talent (as in many RPG) or by repeating a couple of times some brief and mundane task (such as merely looking at a text or hitting the play button of an audio recording like Lara in the newest Tomb Raider trilogy).

Why? Because I would be able to learn another language in a heart beat (like Lara Croft), or simply put some points into my music skill to finally master playing this instrument of mine, or instantly increasing my programming skill.
This way I could spent less time on learning the required knowledge and instead focus more on actually applying it, thus doing something productive with the knowledge, for instance, 'building bridges' between people of different origins, uplifting depressed people with my pleasant music or creating the next blockbuster video game free of 'bugs'.

Too bad, the winner is receiving only a single-use redeem code without the option to gift the remaining games, for I am actually mainly interested in "Windbound" from the collection.

Thank you GOG.com team for plenty opportunities recently to engage with your community and providing the multiple chances to win some neat prizes!

Kind regards,

bhrigu: One video game skill that I consider worth having in real life is the 'Bottomless Stomach' skill from Yakuza Zero.
(...)
I believe this would be an interesting skill to possess in real life. Imagine going to a party, or a restaurant or more importantly to any all-you-can-eat buffet and being able to eat anything you want unhindered by one's biological limitations. This would be an amazing boon for any gourmet.
Hello bhrigu!

This skill is actually neither so remarkable nor desirable as it may sound. For sure, seeing all those unbelieving faces around you is funny initially, and many people (especially quite some women will envy you), but it gets old quickly.
Furthermore, it is not the question of being able to eat everything you want, but whether there will be sufficient to eat in order to be satisfied!
And most importantly, you are not going to be welcome anymore as soon as they know you as this 'bottomless hole'...

Kind regards,
from a fellow 'bottomless pit'

quick healing of course, well because its nice to have in world
Definitely the almighty KICK from Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Life would be so much more simpler if I could just kick my problems away.
I'd love to have Pathfinder's Aeon powers. Nobody can ever lie to them, they know instantly if they're hiding something and they can travel in time to rectify the balance of the multiverse, erasing crime against the natural order before they happen.

How awesome is that?
From Dungeon Siege 2, transform items directly to cash.
Very practical and ecologic.
