I mean, isn't this a bit...scummy, GOG?
Those games are free from literally AGES on Bethesda site. Basically you give those for "free"...if you buy something. You should at least just give those games to all Fallout trilogy owners here on GOG.

Or better, just give them for free, and that's it. It's literally paying for a +1, here, available for free here:

I guess Bethesda doesn't have a say in all this, right?

I think GOG can't offer them for those who already had Fallouts because, back then, the Fallout franchise was officially being sold by Interplay.
That means that people (like me) who had bought F1 and F2 had acquired them from Interplay. That's why GOG probably thinks it's not fair to offer them to those who already owned the Fallout games.
It's a good deal. Almost worth it.

Well, but they could offer them for free to all users, a launch offer like the one EA/GOG did with Ultima games, giving some of them for free.

I have Morrowind on my Steam account, but fuck it I cannot pass up the chacne of getting it DRM Free. And I get Daggerfall and Arena in the process :D
Arena is the talkie version, just like GOG's, right?

Such an offer would have to be approved by Bethesda.
And I can't really see Bethesda offering anything else.

I mean... Morrowind for 20$ ??

Bethesda sure are some hungry Mother F****** :P

Not sure. It's only a 9mb file.

Last time I checked, the free one was the floppy version, not the deluxe edition (talkie). Don't know if they have updated it now.

Same price as the Steam version and that rarely goes on sales. Hell you have better chances to see Skyrim Legendary Edition on a 75% sale than Morrowind on more than a 50% discount. I think i've seen twice in the past two years Morrowind in a 80% sales and maybe 5-6 times at a 75% discount. I grabbed my Steam copy at 80% discount, as the offer was too good to pass. In the stores like GMG, it's even harder to grab a copy at a decent discount.

When the price is right for me, i will get the DRM free Morrowind.

It's the reverse. Morrowind has been discounted for plenty of times by 75%, while Skyrim Legendary has been discounted only for 66%, with only two cases (one on Uplay and another on GMG) where it was discounted by 75%.
I don't share your sense of entitlement.
I already own the games I care about way before they were on GoG. I don't see a point for me to waste money in re-buying them from here. Also Arena and Daggerfall should be free for everyone not locked behind a paywall. I call this very scummy. Freeware should never be locked behind a paywall ever, and everyone deserves the right to download them for free with no gimmicks.

Besides I can get the same thing that includes DosBox with CD audio files for Arena, and all patches for Daggerfall from the UESP Wiki. Those per-packaged installers have been around for years so for those that really want to play them go there and show GoG that you aren't falling for this scam.

I didn't even know there was a talkie! Sweet!

As far as peeps complaining, Arena was never free. Nor was Daggerfall. They obviously were "free," but they required you to go to a website that sold RPGs on it. So the idea is definitely to use the two games as a tool to entice someone to come to Bethesda's website. They're word-of-mouth advertisements.

So now they're "free" on GOG with the same purpose: to entice. They're good games, both are easily worth GOG's normal $5.99 price tag, so count it as nice to get it on your shelf and use GOG's nifty system for downloading from your account. But if you want them free from Bethesda, go and get them!
