The Duke Nukem games were pulled because the rights went from 3D Realms to Gearbox and Gearbox does not sell their games here.

But 2K is now here and Gearbox technically works for 2K. I mean they publsihed Duke Nukem Forever and Borderlands under 2K.

So will we get the Duke Nukem games back under 2K/Gearbox's name?

bump?

And its also a sincere question. Does 2K own Duke Nukem or Gearbox alone?

Just Gearbox. I really don't know how it'd work out since 2K is just the publisher. I'm sure the devs have to agree to allow their games (or games they happen to own) to be sold.
I might be wrong here, and no doubt someone will correct me if I am, but I thought that 2K and Gearbox were actually owned by Take2, which would basically make Gearbox games a separate entity to the 2K agreement.

EDIT: OK, guess I'm wrong -- I'm not sure who owns what after looking at it all!

Shame if it doesn't I can see the Brothers in Arms series from Gearbox selling really well here as well.
I think GOG would need Gearbox to get Duke Nukem 3D or Homeworld, however the awful piece of trash DNF could come to GOG.

Brothers in Arms was published by Ubisoft.
From what i understand 2k publishes Gearbox's games, present and future, but they don't own Gearbox. Gearbox is independent. 2k being on gog doesnt change anything regarding Duke's status.

Fun fact: that game has almost 1,000 votes on the wishlist.

Why does a steam wh... *ehm* developer requires a publisher if not already owned by one? Or is it because console and steam key selling in retail? Otherwise all they need is Valves goodwill.

Doesn't change the fact it's as dull as dishwater. I'm sure there are people out there that like Ultima 9 or Blood 2 as well.
Isn't Gearbox an independent company?

Duke Nukem is owned by Gearbox and Gearbox is independent. 2K only publishes Duke Nukem Forever, which incidentally, is the only Duke Nukem currently available for sale on Steam. Just like GOG, the older Duke Nukem games were also removed from Steam which indicates that even if Gearbox were to sign up right now, they would still not release the games till all the legal stuff that have to with the transfer of an IP are done.

Also, while Gearbox has made use of 2K and Ubisoft to help publish their games, they can also self-publish as demonstrated by Homeworld, so they wouldn't need to rely on other companies to rerelease the older Duke Nukem games.

Personally I'd like it here. Would be the only missing Duke Nukem game.
And to be honest, if anything, WHEN GOG is able to release Duke Nukem Forever, they'll do so on the basis of completing a game series. So no matter how true it may suck, it'll see the light here if GOG is up to getting it here. We just need back the old titles firsthand.

As far as PC Duke games goes, sure. It would be the only one missing. I never said GOG can't sell it, they can sell whatever they want. They already sell some pretty notoriously trashy sequels.
