Thinking about getting the surface 3 (Non pro) 128GB with 4GB ram, Just wondering what GOG games run like on this if any of you have one or any windows tablet really.

I dont expect to be playing anything non indie thats like later than 2006.

I think ill be fine if i can playthrough eye of the beholder and games like that.

Don't know, seems a bit gimmicky to me. Why not just get a laptop, you would get more power for you money. And if its anything like the damn windows phones you will want to break them very quickly.

I would imagine all old games would run on modern machines, its more about os compatability and drivers.
for the money of that tablet I would just get a laptop and save a little bit extra to get something more powerful to last you more years to come for later indie and more recent somewhat triple A games
Im actually not after a laptop, I have a G750JM for that, Im actually after a windows tablet hybrid, mainly for doing some browsing and sorting things out on the train, Also for a hub to swap content to my Shield TV

The Surface 3 128GB has 4GB ram thats appealing for me also using a new atom CPU that has the Cherry Trail GPU

The only other option i have at the moment is the Asus Transformer Book T100HA 64GB for £280 that also has Cherry Trail Graphics. might be a good choice but the fact it only has 2gb ram really disturbs me :/
Hooray for people completely ignoring the point of the thread. If OP wanted a notebook/laptop, he would be asking for recommendations for such devices. Tablet PCs do have their uses and advantages, if only because they are very light and convenient to use.

I can't really say anything about this particular tablet, but I can say from experience that most Point&Click Adventures work especially well with touch devices, due to the simple controls/gameplay, and generally low hardware requirements. Also games like Banner Saga, Shadowrun and other turn-based RPGs tend to work well. And performance is less of an issue with turn-based games, since you don't need perfectly smooth framerates.

In general, obviously you'll be limited to games with low to medium hardware requirements. Plus, if you don't want to use additional input devices, you'll be limited to specific genres such as the ones I mentioned. Fast-paced games probably won't work, unless they were specifically developed with touch-screen controls in mind.

Also, keep in mind that some older ( and sometimes newer ) games tend to glitch up when trying to control them via touch input instead of a mouse. Most of the time you'll just have to try them yourself, to find out whether or not a game works properly.

I have played a ton of FTL (along with a few other games) on my Surface Pro, aided by mapping almost all the commands to mouse buttons. I will note that it does drain the battery quite a bit, but other than that I have no problems to report.
I've also been looking for a good Windows tablet for EDC so that I can play my GOG games on the move, but the high price tag has been deterring me.
A good netbook with a ton of swappable memory cards may be more up my price street.

Still thinking about it though.
I have the Pro 2. Flatout 2, WoW, Hearthstone, Minecraft, Braid, World of Goo, Osmos, Halo Spartan Assault, and Halo Spartan Strike run perfectly. Can't say much for anything else as I have not tried anything apart from those games on the device. Don't know how it compares to the Surface 3 though.

I runs Windows. In principle everything that is compatible with Windows and not too demanding should be fine, shouldn't it?

Ye but the question is, how powerful is the Intel GPU that comes with that CPU.
