ZivilSword: And I want back the information when I bought a specific game. I still can sort by purchase date but I cannot see it.
That data is still there but has been pushed in to the orders and settings tab under account. Doubtfully that its going to be reimplemented in the library. Unfortunately gog has no clue what user friendly web site design means.

I miss it bitterly.

Bitterly.

And nobody cares.

Chubz: Now, it looks like this. Boring! Not only are the boxes themselves gone, but the box art is cropped away in favor of a ton of unnecessary white space reserved for the games' names (none of which even completely fill those spaces, at least in my collection).
This white space is reserved not only for the game's name, but also for tags you assign to them. They are displayed too.
It's actually very useful. Try it.
At first i was skeptical about it too. :)

moonshineshadow: What I really miss is the manual sorting.
^ same here. I do miss the nice shelves with the ability to be black and have nice boxes, but the manual sorting is the thing I miss first and foremost and would prefer back much more than any thing else they changed. Quite a while ago they also allowed you to put spaces in between games when sorting, which was excellent and completely idiotic that they did away with that. I don't know about you folks but all the shelves I have in my home allow easy viewing of a large number of books/movies all easily sortable and shift-able and manageable. If a virtual shelf can't be made better or as good as a REAL shelf, something is wrong with the programming. It's a GD shelf. Can they seriously not program a SHELF to be effective?!

Another call for the return (or option) for the old shelves.

I miss the black shelf with the game boxes.

Chubz: Ever since GOG's latest redesign, I've been unhappy with the appearance of the Library (aka Game Shelf) page.

Before, it looked like this. You actually had little boxes sitting on a shelf. It was really cool, and really felt like your own virtual game collection. You could even manually rearrange the boxes if you so desired!

Now, it looks like this. Boring! Not only are the boxes themselves gone, but the box art is cropped away in favor of a ton of unnecessary white space reserved for the games' names (none of which even completely fill those spaces, at least in my collection).

Surely I can't be the only one who misses the old "virtual game shelf" design with the little game boxes. Don't get me wrong, I realize that ultimately the games themselves are most important, but as the old saying goes, "It's the little things that count."
The ordering of the games in your "before" picture is different from the ordering of the games that I would have had. Therefore your ordering is wrong. You should be thankful that the new shelf no longer allows you to order your games incorrectly.
I also missed it T__T
I haven't even had a chance to see the new shelf but I am sure I would whine about it.

All I know is, I have 105 GOG games installed, Galaxy found five - there were 13 in 2005 but onl 3 on the list and the most recent didn't even show up. Looks to me like Galaxy has got more bugs than Rent-o-kill. No way I am going to d/l a hundred frigging games. It'd take my data allowance up for three months if I only did email and d/l and nothing else.

Maybe lots of people have unlimited - we in Australia know our internet is behind Rumania!
I wouldn´t say I "miss" it, although, I liked it a lot more.
I miss it.
Especially rearranging the games by yourself.
Before it looked really classy. It was something I just liked to look at. Now its very dull.

The whole previous website looks like it has SOUL, the only thing that survived was the Library, but is also gone...
With Galaxy we were supposed to do everything we could without it...

I don't understand why devs can't program the shelf, they are so bad at programming an UI?

I care. *gives hug* But that's all I can say or do. :)
The old design looked so much better, I also liked the wishlist
