Yes.. I am that one person who would like to rent that, 'cos i don't see myself in those panic disorder inducing chairs.
It's on BluRay now, doesn't that mean you can rent it?

Depends. Some regions and countries get releases later than others. For example, here in Germany, it's slated to come out April 28.

blu ray is an hi def format
the discs hold between 25 to 100 gig of data ( usually 50 gig)

and every playstation 3 is a blu ray player

It does do that.
In fact, in the early days of that console, there was a joke that one would get more out of just using it to watch movies instead of playing games on it, thanks to its rather lackluster game-library at the time.

Technically, yes. While a DVD can hold either 4.7 or 8.5 GB of data, a Blu-ray can store up to 50 GB (although even larger ones seem to exist now), allowing for much higher resolution video (HD).

I got with my used ps3.. a big ass 720p hd ready tv.. I've tried it. with a 5 meter long hdmi cable to hook my pc to that TV. It works, but I mostly use it with those ps3 games. Last of us was good.. I bought it in digital which sucks I got the main game working but I didn't have space for that DLC ever. It sucked. Good game it was though. The main game.
My advice is to skip SW7 and hope for SW-RO1. <----- (Whoops! Actually not SW8!)
If you really want to see it anyway, watch it afterwards.

Anyone know when it's coming to GOG?

I want to watch it DRM free and we haven't had new movie releases here for quite some time.

This almost happened to me the last time I went to the theatre ;) The usual favorite area to sit in was all filled up... "Okay, go further back or go... to the separate rows located closer to the front... I want the big screen feel let's go closer..."

*sit down, chin angled upward 45degrees* "Oh shit, what did I do? Do we move? I can't move... okay... let it ride"

*2.5 hours later* Okay, *phew* that wasn't so bad. Neck intact, all okay - but don't do that again ;)
