Trying to weigh the pros and cons of the game while the pre-order deal is still live. I mean I shouldn't really be considering it presently, but tempted to just say fuck it. (Really what is $47 more when there is already a mountain of student loans?)

I meant like current news, that thread kinda petered out over the weekend.
Most current news to me: The game will be great and I can barely wait to play it, what does a few pixels matter?

Since CDPR claims that there will be graphical enhancements done with the day 1 patch on both consoles and the PC, my advice would be to buy the game (at the discounted price) and to not download any of the included files. Afterwards, once the game has been released, you should take a better look at the comparison reviews that are bound to appear, and if you are satisfied, you just download and play it. If, on the other hand, you find that the comparison reviews are painting a bad picture, you should instead ask GOG for a refund (you can refund any game from GOG, as long as you haven't downloaded any of the files and if no more than 30 days have passed ever since the purchase date).

I'm sure it will be great, that was never even questionable. I just take issue the marketing used and various quotes from CDPR, should the release be heavily downgraded.

I'd rather not debate about anything here, just curious if more footage or clarification has occured or if anything has definitively been disproven.

Yeah, it was intended as a mostly retarded comment. I'm just more annoyed at all the threads about it than I believe I will be at any difference between the first previews and the final product. No disrespect towards you.

You seriously had to start another witcher thread? Isn't there already a lot of those? and it's not even something different like gameplay or something else, just another downgrade thread.

Quick answer: if you're only for graphics then you shouldn't buy the game ( the low graphics are still great)
the witcher series was never a game that you play for graphics, but for its story. a better question you should've asked is how it's the optimization among other things. not angry or anything, just sad to see that there isn't even a thread about those things.
As far as I can tell, the graphics are still really good. It's just that the devs have been lying to us, pretty much (it seems). We'll know for sure tomorrow. Curious what CD Projekt will say in the coming weeks.
I wish they were just messing with people to get the downgrade word going around only to surprise them at launch with what they promised, which wouldn't be the first time they trolled people, but unfortunately it looks like an impossible scenario now that they've spoken out about it.
