I have the first two on my ps3 but haven't really played through them yet.

Smannesman: Emulators don't feel the same.
It's like an e-reader vs actual books.
Why should it matter if you are interested in the game ? as long as the emulator version is playable who cares ?

Some of these console exclusives are great but nobody is going to buy an old PS/Xbox today just to play them, its better to make them playable for people on PC. Because then these games get to be enjoyed. Isn't that better than having them rust away and be forgotten ?
I think they deserve a better fate.

After all isn't that what GOG itself is about, bringing classic games into the market for both old and new gamers to enjoy ? Its the same reasoning to me.

Its not as if modern console gamers today actually appreciate these older console games, like most gamers today they only care about new stuff and shiny graphics.

Bring all old console exclusives to PC I'd say, maybe here they can find some appreciation again.

Here Here! But the point of GOG was skewered and warped into Anti-DRM so they'll probably disagree with you.

Yeah I know what you mean. I have a bad habit of taking the whole DRM-free thing as given or implied by my reasoning, after all why would I even be on GOG buying games if I didn't care or wasn't aware of DRM. So when I make my statements what seems really obvious to me runs the risk of being missed or misinterpreted by some.
To me GOG is essentially about two things: classic games + having control of the games I buy, to play where an when I want to.

Licurg: I played lots of games on both PS2 and PC emulators, and seen almost no difference.

toxicTom: The feeling is different. It's not just the visual. It's more "desk vs couch".

Am with Licurg and the others here. Running a game through an emulator is pretty much the same as on a console. I mean I have a PS3 and Xb360 both plugged into the same monitor as the computer, and spedn about the same amount of time in either the seat of a couchlike for playing games. It makes n difference? And yes, I have several PS2/PS1 etc. consoles which I rarely get out now I have good emulators for them.

The only place I can see it making a difference is the actual controller itself, as I use either the rumbleforce or 360 controller, so don't have a PS2 shaped one for instance.
I need to find the time to play through the 3 of them I have. My wife doesn't like horror, and I'm not prepared to expose my 2 year old to this.

I did a quick sanity check on them when I got them to make sure they worked. Walked in the first hallway, saw that first ghost and thought "A guard, looks like he didn't spot me. I'll wait until he patrols back this way and nail him then" So I wait. And I wait. And I start to wonder "...where did he go?" And then I finally move out, right into the next ghost. Sleep took awhile to come that night.

YES! I was thinking of bringing that up. Oi, that spying mechanic makes you creep yourself out. Sleep was also fitful the night I tried this one out.

Hey do not worry about your kid, there is not much blood or guts at all in the game. The jump scares will only effect an older child because in my opinion atleast, I don't think a young kid would even understand what the hell is going on in that game haha.

I've considered that he wouldn't understand certain aspects as well, but he learns too quickly and I don't want to become too complacent. :)

haha I remember the last time I played it. I think my son was 4 yrs old, he had his first nasty cold so he was sitting in bed with me. He had no idea what was going on (and I didnt to a point either). But he just thought the whole thing was fascinating. Got to love kids, we watched 4 Hellraiser movies after that.

What about the Clock Tower games?

Haven't played any of them. The premise of the first seemed rather off to me; if some kid is chasing me with a giant pair of scissors, I'm going to set a trap and kill his ass. Giant scissors just don't feel threatening to me.
