I'm not too familiar with Mint, but took a shot at figuring out and explaining what's happening. I fear you won't like the answer, so I hope I'm wrong and there's a workaround I'm not thinking of.

As usual, adamhm's giveaways are among the best this community had seen, with a very good selection of games and at the same time promoting a free, secure and private operating system like Linux.

For now I'm still on W7x64 but I'm 100% sure that I'll switch to a Linux distro of choice in the near future, seeing as W10 is a big no go for me, with all the spying and the forced updates (I really don't care if these can be partially or totally turned off, so please don't bother to mention this).
