XVX777: But thanks for the smartass reply I was trying to avoid anyway. It was very helpful in recounting numerous things I already know. The world is now a better place because you told me. I'll inform the international institute of video game accuracy, maybe you'll get a prize.
You're the one being the smart ASS not me, ASSuming I was only responding for you, and ASSuming I know exactly what is in your mind and how smart you are ... now we know.

If you say a dumb thing like "half DRM-free" you gotta expect a response oh wise one.

Anyway, thanks for the laugh. LOL

I only ever bought one game from Amazon (Irem Arcade Hits). I got a completely DRM-Free installer, but the game didn't work properly (massive stuttering). Amazon Prime Gaming seems to be your standard DRM-infested service to me.

Yes, but remember that with Amazon Prime Gaming you're getting the "rental" for free as part of your Prime subscription (I don't know if you can buy additional games through it - never tried, never will), but it's probably the one instance that I can live with some form of DRM - I haven't paid for the game, so I'm not that worried if I lose access to it.
Sorry for the necro, but should I create a thread for it or should I report games playable without the launcher here?

Just in case, here's a report of DRM:

Didn't test Knockout City as I don't use Origin.
All games from September aside from Knockout City appear to be playable without the launcher.
All games downloaded on Windows and tested on Linux (Ubuntu) while on airplane mode.
All games tested with Wine unless noted otherwise.

List of games tested:

Tools Up!
-Also appears to have couch coop, but I can't test (requires controller, and Wine doesn't appear to recognize mine).
Sam and Max Hit the Road
-Tested with ScummVM (snapshot/nightly, and not either the one bundled with the game or Ubuntu's repository build).
Puzzle Agent
Candleman - The Complete Journey
Unmemory
Secret Files 2: Puritas Cordis
Unless it has some sneaky DRM nobody noticed, Ghostrunner currently available on Amazon's Prime Gaming comes as a GOG key, and is therefore DRM free. Still need to check the other games.
List of games for November (Source) :

Control Ultimate Edition
Dragon Age Inquisition
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Rogue Heroes
Liberated
Puzzle Agent 2
Demon Hunter 2: New Chapter, BAFL - Brakes Are For Losers
Secret Files: Sam Peters

Considering 505 Games teased a new GOG code for November and December, I guess Control may be offered as a GOG code.
Control Ultimate Edition from this month's Prime comes as a GOG key. Unless there's some sneaky DRM I missed, the game should be totally DRM free.

Yep, this is a pure GOG key, no drm here. Only requirement is jointing Amazon Prime. Just got my copy, really happy about that :D

reject423: I have For The King, which I got from a Prime Gaming thing awhile back. It does not work with Amazon Games closed. If you try to launch it, it tries to open the Amazon Games launcher.

If you try to run the executable, it will crash to desktop after the logo movie.
Did you try playing the game on a computer or virtual machine that never had Amazon's launcher installed?
