since gog gives zero fucks about us and this forum
and all they do is pretend to listen and placate us with shit that shouldnt have been removed in the first place and even there they drag their feet

it might be a good idea to discuss the alternative an exodus to a different forum
an external forum there is more then enough free software and free boards out there to make such a thing feesable

but for this to work two things have to happen

one : who wil follow me to a board like this ?

and two : it will have to be as hands off as this forum
the admin wil only take action when absolutely necessary *

as for how easy it is i made this on proboards in 2 minutes http://unofficalgogforum.proboards.com/
now im not saying we should flock to my board
but it might be a good idea to discuss these things as an option because gog absolutely gives zero fucks

who is with me ?
who is against me ?
what should we do instead then ? should we just suffer this forums slide in to garbage ?

is it a good idea ?
is it a bad idea and should i stick it up my smurfhole never to be mentioned ever again ?

( for those wondering if they flock to my pissant board im too lazy of an admin to be draconian id rather past crew to the ceilling with fudge )

I'm not against this in any way, but I won't be joining you. While GOG's "Zero Fucks Given" policy is terrible, a fan-run forum is very likely to be worse. I've seen this kind of thing happen on other forums and it almost never turns out good. The replacement forum usually ends up a cesspool of trolling run by petty martinets for moderators. No thanks, I'd rather not risk it.
There already is such a forum (there was a thread about it some days ago).

Just let me search for the link...

well thats up to you
my forum is jut there to point out how bloody easy it is to make a free forum

i sure as hell dont want to take this mantle upon me and tow the bloody line unless i have to
and i am personally far too lazy to really care about being a mini hitler and going MY FORUM MY RULES

i know i couldnt find it
my forum is just an example to show how easy it is to make a dedicated forum
unless people actually want to follow me there

i dont expect my forum to get of the ground
but it cant be worse then this place ...at least proboards is functional

To be honest, I wouldn't follow you. This forum might have it's flaws, but it's still a nice place when you learn to stay away from the toxic topics, ignore the trolls and not care about the rep.

And it certainly is the best place to give GOG some direct feedback.

true but they dont really listen unless you hit them over the head with a very very very large mallet
for a long time

i tend to follow your advice im just getting tired of being ignored and this forum becoming more and more toxic there is only so much you can do by wilfully ignoring things
One suggestion: If you are going to make a forum, you should come up with rules about what is and isn't allowed. For example, is discussion of pirated software allowed? Is it permisable to harass other users? Is it OK to post a topic completely off topic? Is it OK for a post later in a topic to have nothing to do with the original topic (because the conversation moved in that direction)? Is it acceptable to derail a topic? (And many other things.)
If it brought back the classy community that once was and didnt need moderation (we practically self moderated and anyone who didnt was politely torn apart) would be a good thing.

The level of stupidity in this place, the spam the self entitlement is just through the roof.

We used to just run give-aways for fun, to be nice to one another, now we are branded "hi rep scammers" even though most of it in my case was before that loud mouth even joined.

While I would love this to happen, I dont think it will, I think its too late and the old guard (older than me i mean) have already basically walked away
I don't think an unofficial forum like this is a solution. Too contrived, IMO, part of the fun of the forum is the old guard and part is (was?) the new people too. So I'll just rely on the classics.
The old guard, maybe it's time for something new. Just sayin. If they've bailed, I honestly couldn't care less about em.

I'm mostly here for the games and chatting with gamers. Is long as I keep seeing, News: Release it keeps things fresh and the forum from becoming a quagmire.

On a side note, I wonder what exactly they are guarding.

As I have already tried this, personally I think an unofficial forum could be a valid alternative... but there just does not seem to be enough community interest to make it valid.

snowkatt: ...
Lego Wang will follow you :o)

Personally I am not hugely interested in the forums, rep, etc. although I agree that they seem to be filling with rubbish since W3/Galaxy release - e.g. "be my friend" topics. But I think you will struggle to get any separate forum going.
I'm not in. All the power to the people who feel the need to go to an alternate forum, but for some reason I find this official forum pretty fine as it is. Maybe it is because I don't care at all about the giveaway threads, which seem to be the sore point for most complainers if I understood right.

I don't even mind that much those "add me" friend threads, I just skip them and I consider them as a temporary nuisance, until GOG adds a proper add a friend function to Galaxy.
