I'm kinda sick of these low life moronic teenage-wannabe thugs that have been around here for a while now. Scammers, spammers, shit posters, alternate over alternate accounts made by the same random ass no lifer somewhere in this world (Seriously who the hell wastes their time on this? This is a whole new level of lack of intelligence. Humanity is doomed.), derepers, self-uprepers (Now that's a whole new level of lame) etc.
Now I'm going to spare the blues the effort of coming here and giving me the basic "Reputation doesn't really matter." or "Stop the giveaways." type of responses. They are wrong in both cases, regardless of what they or the corporate heads might say and think. Reputation is part of the system. Many people here have been around since the very dawn of GOG and may actually care about it. Why? Because it's part of the system. If you truly think rep is useless then why is it even there? Why don't you just go over there to the techies and ask them on our behalf to kindly replace it with something better? Can't be that hard, can it?
I've been on the CDPR forums. They are nothing like this. Why instead of a down rep button don't we have only a up rep button like there? Yes, I am well aware that this system would be susceptible to abuse as well, but with the help of the search function and join dates regulars here can easily identify the scammers and bad apples.
Or how about just make certain forum regulars who have X rep be able to either up rep and down rep? Not that great of a system, but at least it works, as opposed to the current system which is kinda really freakin' BLEH!
I don't know. I'm just spouting whatever seems reasonable in my mind for a solution, but your "Just wait! A solution is coming responses." started to bore me. A solution should have been here for quite a while. Why does it take so much drama and loss in sales for anyone to act? Now maybe the corporate heads there in the big offices don't really care for the few purchases that regulars here do for giveaways, for gifting and other miscellaneous stuff. But when did it become a feasible business technique to just pass on any number of sales? When did it become hard to make already paid workers fix some pretty minor things in the forums, things that should be minuscule in difficulty and time investment compared to Galaxy.
I'm not one to preach at a wall or speak to a dead or bored audience, so I won't continue this conversation any further. I am going to be frank and tell you I'm not making any purchases around here until you solve this. I have a backlog of quite a few games. It will last me a while. Whether you solve this issue in 1 week or 1 year, it doesn't really matter. My backlog will last.
