Seriously though I've had many friends tell me I'm too old for this. People ask me casually which $500 smartphone to get and look surprised when I tell them to buy a good GPU and play some games. Like, its culturally ingrained in them that games are for kids only.

Pokemon is good. Anyone can play it. It actually has very deep mechanics. Whether I play it or not is irrelevant compared to the fact that Pokemon is most likely the worst hit of all as far as being branded as a kid's game is concerned. Just look at the battle simulator for PC and you'll see how complex and skill driven it is.

Grandmas of today! Just playing video games and listening to rock music all the time, and swearing to their grandchildren. Very violent too due to the video games, considering the recent retirement home shootings. Awful.

When I was young, grandmas were like grandmas are supposed to be, knitting socks and offering us grandchildren some chocolate that they had forgotten in the cupboard for 20 years or something (true story, I declined the offer).

I should point out that age has put it's limitations on me. In high school I was a fucking Mortal Kombat master, but 20 years later man, I just don't have the speed or dexterity to be any good at it anymore. The same goes for most platformers.

Are you sure about that though? I suspect it is easy to forget about the buttload of practice you would've had before you became a master. If anything, after 20 years you might simply not have the patience anymore to build yourself up to the same skill level again?

I don't think he would have to. He would just put a couple of rounds into the barrel of the cyberdemon's arm cannon, so that it would explode if the cyberdemon tried to fire off a shot. Speaking of which, I've always wondered whether that would work, like that sniper/tank/tower scene in Saving Private Ryan. What would've happened if he had fired a shot right down the loaded barrel of the tank?

That would probably make him even angrier. Anyway, the barrel is about the size of a large football, your bullet would make no impact.

Who knows? Hell manufactured ammunition might be extremely unstable. And even if it doesn't explode perhaps the demon will be so impressed by his marksmanship that he decides to spare his life and grant him one wish, which he'll use to obtain some sort of demonic super revolver...

There is no dealing with the cyberdemon, he may agree not to have angry sex with your corpse and pull your limbs off, but he's hardly like to agree to go get Dirty Harrys gun!

Hah hah, why not. But why would we be playing on a Playstation 1? Any good PS1 era multiplayer games, which will still be good in a few decades? Hmm.
