Anyone know if the GOG versions are fully working now? I know the steam versions had issues with Windows 7 and Win 8.

Also it says Single Player. Is the Multiplayer now removed from this series?

Anyone know?
Playing it right now, works great.

The load times are a little slow unless you turn off the compatibility option at which point you get an error message on startup but it doesn't seem to effect the game.

I wish I could turn off the stupid Live Action screen, :P I keep getting my guys killed because I'm watching that.

OK, but you didn't answer my question about multiplayer. Is that still intact?

That I don't know.
So is Act of War similar to C&C?

More so Generals than the other C&C.

The 1st large bit are primarily run & gun siege levels where you are using a squad to run around taking out terrorist.

Since the Gamespy service has shut down, online multiplayer is obviously out of the question. As for LAN through GameRanger, Hamachi, Tunggle, etc., there seems to be mixed success for it, which is probably why GOG doesn't openly advertise multiplayer.

Sounds cool! Generals was a fun game as well. The wishlist has over 2,000 votes! :P

I happen to be playing both at the same time and they are both worth the price. My only really minor gripe with AoW is the HUD! :P There is so much shit on the HUD between commands, video feeds, maps, updates, objectives, health, etc etc etc it gets a little much. XD One thing I love which C&C didn't have until later titles is using buildings and towers for troops as well as being able to use trees for cover.

I'm tempted to say that Act of War, both in gameplay style and feel, is halfway between C&C and World in Conflict. At least that is how I remember it.
