Wow, what a huge celebration! Happy 5th GOGiversary! +1
Reflecting on your story, I first discovered GOG from a Torchlight giveaway - then I stayed around for the great community :)

I'm in for just Awesomenauts.

As for dealing with bad situations, what I've learnt is that there's no sense in being negative nor dwelling on the past/what's been done and can't be changed. Like running Linux command rm on a database file. Can't undo the rm, so don't dwell on it, maybe we can recover it running lsof :)
Actually, you know what? If it's OK, I'll change to "in" after all - I'll go for Daikatana. (I'll edit my original post too.) Thank you!

Great, Linus!

Anyone can edit their posts up 'til I announce that the contest is closed... and should, seeing as how we keep getting new donations~! :D
Lies! This is not nearly genki enough! Needs at least 43% more genki content :P

Still, congrats on the milestone, you now get to attend GOG pre-school!

Genki's opening post does feel less BLUE.
Genki Gogversary, genkicolleen! Wish you many genkis! ♪ヽ( ⌒o⌒)人(⌒-⌒ )v ♪

To put a positive spin on a bad situation I take a deep breath; have confidence in my ability to
solve it; focus only on the positive; if possible laugh at myself (and learn with the mistake) and listen to uplifting music.

I'm in for:

1. STAR WARS: TIE Fighter Special Edition
2. Indiana Jones® and the Fate of Atlantis

Kudos to all the genkilicious donors. (✰◡✰)

Also, this thread needs and [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LQr_AN5Iu4]more genki.

Happy GOGversary you Gal full of Optimism! :)
Not in for the giveaway, thanks for sharing!
This scene from Pollyanna shaped my life, I think: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ihxyf7A1hg , for I always find something good in every situation. It's not always easy, but eventually you can see the silver lining if you just look hard enough ^__^

I have two autistic childre, and while I worry for them and for their futures, there are some positives to the situation~!
For instance, I'll never have to deal with Empty Nest Syndrome, for our youngest will never be able to live on her own (and I do have a need to mother people, so I guess I got what I asked for!) ;D

My children's autism has given me a better understanding of myself, for after thorough research, I realize that I also fall on the autism spectrum, and I highly value the knowledge of what makes me (and others) act they way they do... It gives us a greater understanding and compassion for others.

My husband is disabled, but at least he can stay home and be available for the kids at any time (we don't trust our youngest with strangers, as she does not speak, and cannot tell us if someone is mistreating her.)

Tripped and fell in the parking lot? Hey, at least nothing was hurt but your pride!

Everyone in the household is sick? Maybe you can all sleep in tomorrow~!

Just find that silver lining -- it's a much more comfortable way to live. ^__^
Happy gogiversary Genki!

I am not in, however I will participate in the topic.

I have always worked with people in all my careers (as in dealing with people's problems or customer service, etc) b/c I am just a people person. Tried working in a laboratory once and I about lost my shit. Anyways, if I get a huge jerk who's goal is to make my life miserable, I try to kill them with kindness. They come at me full of bile, I will just lay on so much sugar I'll give them type 2 diabetes. They ratchet up the hate, I ratchet up the rainbows. I've found this either calms them down or makes them rage so hard their head explodes, but either way it keeps them from spreading the hate to me. hmmm, perhaps I should use this tactic here. :)

I saw about your nickname, but what about your avatar? Is Feena from either of those Chain Chronicle: Short Animation or Brighter Than the Dawning Blue?

Unfortunately I still haven't found my way of making a positive spin on a negative situation, so I hope I can find some ways here. Currently I'm in a strange situation when I have to deal with kind people that say they're trying to help me in my work (and maybe they really think they are, or maybe they just want to share the credit and shine in the bigger collective - like: "hey look I don't have to, but I helped a lot to this guy"[also a very viable option here and now]), but when I try to see the bigger picture I see that I have already enough work done to cover not only the minimum but to make a good final results, and what they do seems like dragging me with the promise of "fantastic results - the top of the top" (never spoken in that way, just: "you do this one more thing and it will be better"), without any reward what-so-ever for the top-of-the-top results, and with the big possibility of failure due to missing the deadline because of the never ending "one more thing". And I don't know what to do :(

No, Genki's avatar is Feena from the Ys series.
Happy Gogiversary Genki, you have been a real source of positivity here on the forums and an invaluable member of this community. I let my Gogiversary pass without much fanfare near the end of last year as it wasn't really a festive time for me personally but I plan to rectify that soon. Also thanks a lot for the giveaway with a huge selection of games which have been added to by other generous contributors that have received a +1 accordingly. :)
Great giveaway and u love the explanation of your name! Happy five years!
I'm in for The Fate of Atlantis (gog)
TIE Fighter (gog)
