This is getting interesting.
I wonder about the clues with two numbers.
It seems like RWarehall is on the right track, as there are 14 clues and 14 characters in XXXDARKSIDEXXX, suggesting one letter per clue.
But then why use two numbers for Kenobi Qui-gon Jinn (2,1) and Otoh Gunga (2,5) when other clues select a letter from a two-word answer with only one index: Bail Organa (7) and Ben Quadinaros (4)? Also, Piggy (1,4) is unusual, too. Why is it not simply Piggy (4)?
Just thinking aloud. Not seeking hints yet.
