Hi all!

Another giveaway here. Originally it was something about Halloween, but I missed the right time out as always. Though I've never been into it anyway, so let it be just giveaway with slight horror and mystery tinge.

Prizes are:
Alan Wake's American Nightmare. Not much of a mystery here unlike the original but it's still nice and decent action game with horror atmosphere.
Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut. Unusual approach to American nightmares from Far East. Little towns are not what they seem. Welcome to Greenvale.

Both are GOG versions.

Rules:
- To enter simply mention if you are in or not.
- You may enter for one game. Please state what game you want.
- You may only enter for yourself.
- Keys are for your own use only and not for trading, re-gifting etc.
- People who are known to be scammers are not allowed to enter.
- Winners will be selected by random.

But, to keep closer to the theme, I also ask you a question. Answering it does not affect your chances, but I'll be grateful for advices. (=
So, can you recommend me series with particular features?
Those are: outsider arrives in quiet little town n̶e̶a̶r̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶C̶a̶n̶a̶d̶i̶a̶n̶ ̶b̶o̶r̶d̶e̶r̶ with beautiful postcard views and finds out that something's going on. That something usually is detective mystery or paranormal mystery, or, in general, anything unusual/weird.
In other words, I'm looking for something like Twin Peaks, Happy Town (2010 series with Lauren German and Sam Neill) and Alan Wake including its promotional prequel mini-series Bright Falls.
Despite the examples, 'made/take place in USA' is not necessary condition, mysteries from all over the world are welcome. Temperate climate zone is preferable though.

Giveaway ends on Saturday, 02 December, at 18.00 GMT. Winners will be announced a little later.
Well, not much time for series in my case (or I would rather say no series good enough to be worth time spent), but from things I watched during the last few years I'd recommend first season of American Horror Story. It's somehow from the area you're interested in and it was really intriguing and engrossing.

I'd gladly take part for:
> Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut
I'm in for alans wake and thank you for giveaway.

Wayward Pines series
I think Haven could be that type of series, but I haven't seen any of the episodes.

I'm not in +1

I would highly recommend the Penumbra / Amnesia series, + Penumbra – Necrologue and Penumbra – Twilight of the Archaic on moddb that adds more to the story (unofficially, but they had approval if I'm not mistaken).

In for [Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut], and thanks! +1

EDIT: Seems like they're in the process of creating a prequel, as a mod to SOMA:

I highly recommend Les Revenants. It's quite a mesmerizing and haunting series full of mysteries and with an excellent soundtrack by Mogwai.

Whatever you do, don’t watch any of the trailers as they are full of spoilers. You can safely watch the opening credits though. It really sets the mood for the series:

I’m not in (+1 for the giveaway).

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

josh72718: Wayward Pines series
thanks! forgot to mention this series. it qualifies, though is not what I'm looking for. probably because it lacks another not mentioned criteria like [SPOILER] there should exist way back to the normal world.

sanscript: In for both, and thanks! +1
please note that by the rules you may enter for one game of your choice.
thanks for the recommendation. fist-person horror games aren't really my piece of cake, but i heard Penumbra has interesting story, so might give it a try.

not in.

Higurashi is the only thing that comes to mind right away.
In for Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut.

I could hardly help you on your request since I stopped watching TV about 15 years ago.
The closest I know of that comes to my mind is Lost. Not exactly what you're looking for.
