As many of you know I'm a physicist. As you may probably expect we are rather weird and joyful folks. And if we get bored we start to create semi-scientific theories, just for fun (OK, OK 99% of those theories are pure bullshits but they are funny).
Me and my friend created a theory of a quantum bet. I'll spare you many boring details, I'll give you just a general idea. A quantum bet is a sort of an oath that looks like:
If condition A gets fulfilled I will take an action B.
Obviously there are some additional rules:
1) Condition A must be something that you really want to happen
2) Action B must be something that you don't want to do at this very moment
3) The most important one: Condition A must be related to action B in this way that it may (but only may!) make you want to take action B in future (or at least don't care about taking this action).
I know, it sounds complicated so I'll give you an example. Let's start with something that is NOT a quantum bet:
If I win one million dollars I'll give 1000$ to the charity.
The first two conditions are fulfilled, I want to win one million dollar and at the moment I don't want to donate 1000$ because I simply can't afford it. But the third one is not fulfilled. After winning one million dollars I may immediately donate 1000$ to the charity, even more then that! So let's give an example of a real quantum bet:
If they invite me for a job interview I'll give 1000$ to the charity.
Now, that's a real quantum bet! I want to get invited but I don't want to give 1000$ ATM because it's a lot of money for me as my current job is underpaid. BUT! Being invited for a job interview make it possible that I'll get a better job and thus will be able to donate some money to the charity. But nothing is certain, it's a risk I have to take!
OK, but what's the deal with this quantum stuff? As you may know people theorize that a human mind is a quantum computer. And by making such a quantum bet I'm putting my mind in a very peculiar state: I want Condition A to be fulfilled but I don't want to take action B and I'll have to do it immediately after condition A gets fulfilled. But on the other hand Condition A may make Action B easy to take so I still want this to happen. But wait! It may turn out it won't be as good as I hoped so I don't want this to happen! So my mind actually wants and doesn't want condition A to be fulfilled as the very same time which is a quantum state (read about Schrödinger's cat if you want to know more)
And here comes another semi-scientific theory that we created: a quantum state creates a quantum buzz that can alert the reality. The explanation how it's achieved is really nerdy so let's accept it. Furthermore we theorized that if this quantum bet is well crafted (again, no details here) the corresponding quantum buzz can alert the reality just the way you wanted. So by making a quantum bet you can change the reality just like you want it to happen. And thus we can finally conclude this semi-scientific nonsense: I made such a bet myself and it was like follow:
If my research stops to be confidential I'll give away every game from my trade list.
It's indeed a quantum bet because I really want to publish my research and I can't. I don't want to give away my games because I have a very limited budget at the moment and trading was a good option to get new ones. After publishing my research I may get a new, better paid job and thus I'll be able to buy more games for myself and to giveaway and obviously all my accumulated keys will go for a giveaway too.
And guess what: I've made this great quantum bet two days ago and today I've been told that I can publish my research! And within those two days I didn't take any actions to convince anyone that publishing it is beneficial for everyone. So a quantum bet really worked (even though I'm still certain this whole theory is a bullshit :P) and I can't really describe how happy I am :D:D:D And I would like you to be happy with me so please don't hesitate and take part in this giveaway! Let's rock! :D:D:D
