I see a lot of mention of the usual suspects. I'd recommend Dungeon Hack or Menzoberranzan. But those aren't really available anywhere right now.

Eye of the Beholder is good.
Dungeon Master is good.
Legend of Grimrock is good.
Shining in the Darkenss on Sega Master System is good. And pretty easy.
Might and Magic is good.
The first 2 Elder Scrolls are really nice games.
And they're free,so you can just download and play them.

Paper Sorcerer is actually a very good choice for a low-end system since it doesn't rely on real-time gameplay, and the retro graphics aren't particularly taxing. The gameplay mechanics are also quite simple, though you'd want to play it on Easy to start with if you're just getting used to the genre.
