Question 1: I currently run Galaxy from my external hard drive, which is drive letter F on my current system. If I move that drive to another computer, and also assign it to letter F on that computer, will Galaxy recognize itself on the new computer? Or would I have to reinstall it to the external drive and re-set my folder paths?

Question 2: I have some Galaxy-compatible games that are not being recognized by Galaxy because I did not use the default folder names. Is there a list somewhere of what folder names Galaxy looks for?

Hi.

1: Most Windows applications save those configurations in Windows Registry, and that's Galaxy case. To keep the program runing the same way just backup the RegKey were it is stored. The reg keys you are interested are:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\GOG.com
Here you will found just some configurations, save it just because.
**AND**
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\GOG.com
Here you will found anything related to GOG's, but the patch you are interested for are:
-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\GOG.com\Galaxy
-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\GOG.com\GalaxyClient
-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\GOG.com\Games

NOTE: The Wow6432Node stands for x64 OS. If yours is a x86 one then ignore that container. E.g:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GOG.com\Games

ALSO, there are some files you may want to backup as well as they indicate the program which games are installed, they are located:
WINDOWS_DRIVE_LETTER:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage

2: I don't know about ALL the games, but there is a RegKey were Galaxy manage the games installation patch, so if you change the folder's name both in Windows and Registry it SHOULD work, however, I tried my self without luck. It seems the program seeks for installed games other way.

I've installed Galaxy now, and because all my GOG games are on E:/GOG Games/ (default) it doesn't detect the already installed games. Everything is as it should, just the drive isn't C.

Um. I don't want to re-install my games to C. There's not enough free space. And I don't want to install new games on C either.

Now what?
put a post about this in the Galaxy BETA sticky thread. gog staff have stated they're keeping an eye on that one. I'm betting this has been mentioned before (though I don't know if they've said they're gonna fix it) but do it anyway because it will be proof this affecting enough people for them to care.

I hope the attitude isn't to expect games be installed to C:. What if C: is an SSD and people need to prioritize?
