....Forget about terrorism, today, a bigger thread has emerged.... :FEAR:.....

Well, if you don't follow the news, today the French politicians have finally voted the law punishing prostitutes's customers. Now if you get caught with a woman/man/trans prostitute you'll be fined 1.500€ and it will be 3.500€ if you get caught a second time. So, no paid sex anymore if you want to "spice up" your trip in the land of Frenchies (of course you can still try seducing in bars and clubs). You can thank the left party who thinks "there is no consent if money is involved" (time to put a joke about marriage, hum.....)

Naturally, all countries around are still civilized and caring about freedom of choices (even if they're not the best).

From Brussels with love.....XOXO (knew her from the streets before her porn career)

For GOG'ers outside EU, a very good documentary from my country (mix of English, French and Dutch spoken) so you can get a glimpse of how it goes behind the scene

They've always had that over here.
What happened to punishing the prostitutes, just the customers seems something ridiculous

"I do not understand why prostitution is illegal. Why should prostitution be illegal? Selling is legal. Fucking is legal. Why isn't selling fucking legal? You know, why should it be illegal to sell something that's perfectly legal to give away? I can't follow the logic on that at all. Of all the things you can do to a person, giving someone an orgasm is hardly the worst thing in the world. In the army they give you a medal for spraying napalm on people. Civilian life, you go to jail for giving someone an orgasm. Maybe I'm not supposed to understand it."

Has been the case in the UK for a while (with some ambiguity, you're not allowed to solicit, but can hire someone who is advertising, the result being the most vulnerable, i.e. street prostitures, are still at risk). Personally I agree with (what I assume is) your view, that there's no actual practical benefit to this kind of law, and it's pandering to conservatives.
Never expected such a backwater move and especially not from an open minded culture like the french one. Don't you guys have guillotines for politicians like that?

No, they abolished those in the late 1970s.

EDIT: It was actually in 1981, apparently.

What a shame. Politicians should have constant reminders that they are where they are to serve the people not their egos & pockets.

So this means that people who are cursed with the short, bald, obese, ugly genetics can't get laid.

America has the same laws on prostitution and look at the horny mass shooting young gunmen problem they have. Elliot Rodger comes to mind.

Maybe if these guys were getting laid with hookers, they won't ever feel the need to take up arms and say "Fuck society, lets go kill everyone".

Fonzer: What happened to punishing the prostitutes, just the customers seems something ridiculous
Street prostitution (which most likely is the majority) usually attracts people that have no other choice (or think they don't) or end up there through coercion. It's there to protect them I guess while at the same time not killing their livilihood. I suppose it's possible to go after them too but they are already in a bad spot you wouldn't really help them by arresting them.

I wonder though, in nations where prostituion is legal and morally accepted, are they really better off? I remember watching a documentary about it and they mentioned that they can get far better conditions like decent pay, health care, the freedom of choosing customers and since it's legal they don't have to worry about legal issues.

That was actually the case before in some way: the prostitute wasn't allowed to actively solicit passerbys.

It's more or less the same law in Belgium but it's kinda tolerated so the wai it works it's just that they stand and wait at their place and only engage by saying "Hi!" or so which can't be punished (as the rest of the conversation is normally intiated by the customer as he starts the conversation himself).

So, the French governement has suppressed this law about "solicitation" which was against the prostitutes and repalaced it with this new law. Somehow, it's a interesting case of lawsuit as you would get punished for something which is offered legally (which is a total nonsense actually)
i've never been with a prostitute, though back in my single partying days a lady with a ton of make-up and an overly exaggerated method of speaking hit on me. she told me her name was "areola" before telling me she liked my jacket and asking me if she could try it on. i was like 'yo man you're repelling all the girls i'd actually like to stand a chance with."

"It's the latest craze. The ladies love it!"
I'm disappoint.
I thought entering France meant blaming tinyE again :_(
