Let’s celebrate Star Trek Day in the best way possible, by bringing back and enjoying some of the best classic Star Trek games now available on GOG.COM!

This year marks the 55th anniversary of the first Star Trek show airing on TV as well as the 100th birthday of the late Gene Roddenberry, who imagined a future in which people have overcome their differences and gone on to explore strange new worlds and seek out new life and new civilizations.

What started as a quirky sci-fi TV show in the ’60s, has become one of the biggest and most recognizable franchises in Western entertainment. 55 years, 11 TV and streaming series, and 13 blockbuster movies later, the Star Trek universe is still growing with unique characters, beautifully designed starships, alien races, and amazing adventures that bring us joy and hope for a better future.

Games: the final frontier
Star Trek also made its mark on the world of video games. The first text-based computer games set in the universe are dated back to 1971, with many official and even more unofficial releases appearing in arcades, on Apple I and II computers, various models of Atari, the Commodore 64, and all the way to DOS and Windows PCs.

You might already know about the adventure games Star Trek: 25th Anniversary and Judgment Rites but an absolute golden era of Star Trek games began at the end of the ’90s and the beginning of the 2000s with new games landing every few months. Unfortunately, many of those titles have become unavailable in recent years and are basically unplayable on modern machines.

This changes now with 6 classic Star]https://www.gog.com/partner/startrek”>Star[/url] Trek games releasing for the first time in digital distribution on GOG.COM.

Discover 6 classic Star Trek games
Preserving classic games is very close to our hearts, so we made sure that these games are up to date, running smoothly on Windows 10, and some of them even offer a working LAN multiplayer.

Every game from this list will give you a unique opportunity to immerse yourself into the world of Star Trek, interact with beloved characters, and explore new parts of the universe.

In Star Trek: Voyager - Elite Force you become a security officer on board of USS Voyager, assigned to a new special unit called the Hazard Team. Together with AI-controlled crewmates, you take on the most dangerous missions, including fighting the Borg. Between the missions, you can explore the ship and interact with the well-known bridge crew with all the actors reprising their roles.

Star Trek: Elite Force II takes the first-person shooter experience to the next level with improved visuals (it’s one of the best-looking games using the Quake III Arena engine), and a set of new missions to complete. This time, your character is being transferred to serve on Enterprise-E where you receive your orders from Captain Jean-Luc Picard himself!

Star Trek: Hidden Evil also gives you a chance to assist Captain Picard and Lt. Cmdr. Data with both Patrick Stewart and Brent Spiner reprising their roles. In this third-person adventure game, you take the role of Ensign Sovok and explore alien ruins and try to save your team before the conniving Romulans make use of an ancient biological weapon.

This next game is perfect for everyone wanting to run special operations on new planets. Star Trek: Away Team is an isometric turn-based tactical game influenced by titles like Commandos and the X-Com series. You need to pick the best away team for each mission and lead its members through dangerous covert operations across locations like the Klingon homeworld, a Borg cube, and Starfleet Academy.

Star Trek: Starfleet Command III gives you a tactical challenge of a completely different scale. In this game, you play the story campaign as a Klingon, Romulan, or Federation captain. Your task is to customize your starship and lead it into space battles while uncovering a plot around the construction of the first Klingon-Federation space station.

Finally, Star Trek: Bridge Commander is probably the most immersive Star Trek gaming experience as it sits you in an actual captain’s chair, surrounded by a crew waiting for your orders. Combat is not the main focus of this title as you spend a lot of time talking to your crew, managing the ship, exploring space, assisting endangered colonies, and conducting diplomatic negotiations.

Make it so!
We hope you’ll enjoy these 6 classic Star Trek games, all updated to work on modern computers, and now available on GOG.COM. In addition, two real-time strategy titles, Star Trek: Armada and Star Trek: Armada II are coming soon and you can now add them to your wishlists.

As every game on this list offers you a different experience and a chance to meet some of your favorite characters, let us know in the comments which one is your favorite and why!

Ixamyakxim: For reference, I actually went back not too long ago and solved Jedi Knight and LOVED every minute of it despite the dated visuals. I actually ended up liking it a lot more than the sequel - it held up extremely well - so it's not like I'm totally opposed to that look.
I bought the first Elite Force yesterday, finished it this evening...if you expect something like Jedi Knight, you'll be disappointed imo. The game is short (can't have taken me more than ten hours), levels are extremely linear, there's no real sense of exploration like in Jedi Knight. It's mindless fun, and if you're really into Star Trek, you might enjoy some of the references (they even included a nod to the mirror universe), but imo judged purely by its gameplay it's rather average.
Now what are the odds we'll see Klingon Honor Guard come back?
Re "Away Team" missing manual:

Just installed the GOG version; and I found Manulas in five languages . SO the game has the manuals, they just don't show up as extras on your gog donwload page.
Elite Force seems to be missing the manual, but iy's available from replacement docs.com.

That's like comparing Need for Speed with Age of Empires.
They are totally different genres.

^^ obviously I mixed the games up as I was thinking KOTOR, please don't consider this as anything other than a stupid post.

How so, Jedi Knight (1997) is very much a shooter.
Jedi Outcast has more of a focus on saber combat, it's true, but still can be seen as a shooter (first few levels have nothing but blaster weapons), and was also made by Raven.
I REALLY thought A Final Unity would be in this bundle. Really bummed now.

Activision had a hand in all of the games that were rumored to be coming, so I don't know why you thought A Final Unity was one of them. I do hope the other Star Trek games make it here, though.

Gudadantza: Those Tomb Raider Games were available on Steam for years. It is expected to be cheaper when rereleased on GOG. The Star Trek titles are GOG exclusives for now. They are more expensive. It is the logic of the bussiness.
They are not extremely expensive as single games though. What makes them expensive is if you want to purchase the whole pack at once, indeed. It becomes a pack with the price of a new AAA game.

Honestly if i could choose I'd prefer old activision games at this price on GOG than any of them at all

Greetings
The problem with expectations is they can be self-serving as an excuse for the provider to be greedy.

I have no expectation other than a fair price, exclusive or not.

And no, I never said anything about purchasing them as a whole pack, though if one did, that pack should certainly be cheaper than individual parts purchased alone. I don't get the AAA comparison, probably because I don't believe in the very bloated AAA prices for many games ... never purchase them myself, and wait until price is more sensible & fair.

And just for your interest, I have paid three times for some of those Tomb Raider games, especially as I bought them cheap at Steam a year or so ago, quite cheap. So for some, I have a disc copy, Steam copy and now a GOG copy. I don't like buying at Steam, but it looked like the games might not come to GOG after all, and they were so damn cheap, that I talked myself into it, with the proviso I would still buy at GOG if ever released here and cheap enough. Boy was I ever pleased at how good that turned out to be ... even with paying more for Tomb Raider GOTY, which I only had at Steam ... perhaps even got free there, I forget.

Greetings.

Once I commented in this Forum that in my opinion a digital AAA game price shouldn't be over 25 maybe 30€ because I didn't understand one game had the same price digitally as a physical game not so many years ago, considering that a lot of the supposed things that made them having that price do no exist yet. I could have an incomplete vision of things regarding this question, though. Probably like you.

Everybody would want the games cheaper, me included but I only gave my opinion about the reasons behind, right now.

My opinion was that 9.99€ for an exclusive game never digitally released before is not unreasonable, comparing with other examples. Not cheap enough? Maybe. Would we want them cheaper? Indeed.

In other post you have answer me something about that in a perfect orld you could agree with me in the related question but things are as they are at least in that matter.

Ok, this is the same. I could agree with you in super cheap prices forever and in any case. I would be stupid if didn't. But my intention was to interpret the reasons of that prices right now. Not in a perfect world.

Selecting what you want to purchase and to decide if it is a deal or not is just in your own.

Greetings

Actually my bad.
You might have said Jedi Knight, but for some reason I had in my mind KotOR.
I apologize.
Looks like Trekkies invaded the bestseller list on GOG. It makes an impression given the fact that the games aren’t on sale. :)

Hopefully it will encourage other publishers who have Star Trek game rights to release them here (A Final Unity, Klingon, Borg, The Fallen, etc)

No problem, mistakes happen to all of us.
FINALLY!!!!! These were some of my favorite games as a teen.

I would also love to see DS9: The Fallen, Starship Creator 1+2, Dominion Wars, Birth of the Federation, and New Worlds at some point! An added bonus would be Borg, A Final Unity, Klingon, and Generations, but I don't think those were quite as strong as the rest.

Hopefully there's still somewhat of a mod community left for some of these. Bridge Commander and Elite Force were especially great for mods, and you could do amazing reskins/remodels with today's hardware.
Looks like the Trek games are selling like hotcakes right now.

Elite Force 1 in particular is already on page 31, sorted by all-time bestselling games.

Let's hope that the sales figures can enable other deals including Trek games from other publishers beyond Activision.
