Bessanti: Riddle me this.. if a few jpegs are enough to brigade against a platform then where's the uproar at Valve letting AIslop being published on Steam.
Oh wait lol.
gheyvulture: Until Valve themselves show this from their own products this point is literally so small brained I shouldn't even bother typing a response. Valve can sell any game they want on their platform it's up to us to purchase said product and market will decide with "AI" is worth investing into from a consumers stand point. Valve are currently changing their TOS so publishers and developers have to be more open about which LLMs they've used so Valve can label it in the description for the customers.
Valve does not label or create the content on game pages on Steam, that is done by the publishers using a standard template. What publishers are required to disclose about LLM usage is disclosed to Valve itself through the developer survey that must be submitted when a game is submitted for approval, which is new now in 2026. However, it is still up to the publishers whether they choose to disclose that information on the game’s store page to customers or not.
The only change that directly affects customers is that it is now easier to report
live-generated content (in other words, not pre-made LLM assets) that breaches copyright. That is it.
