TheGrimLord: Senran Kagura was actually going to be released here when Xseed first localized it. GOG was even featured on the banner for it that they used on their Twitter page for future game releases. It even had a release date. GOG rejected it at the last minute. I was really mad and willing to pay full price on that day.

SCPM: GOG didn't reject it, but XSEED said that they ran into 'technical issues' with a DRM-free build:

Thats is a nice excuse. The devs most likely have blind faith in security over their fans. Like always...

That is a lame excuse. Its more likely the devs rejected its release because they have blind faith in security over their own fans.

As SCPM already said, XSeed cancelled the release themselves with the unacceptable excuse of 'technical difficulties' with the DRM. Knowing they almost made it here is exactly why I was so gutted when these were different Kagura games...

GOG releasing the AO content instead of having you go dig up the patches elsewhere, is this a first?

I gotta admit these games don't seem like my cup of tea, but I still have to applaud GOG for bringing 'em here with the patches too. Welcome, Kagura Games.

I'd hope for some quality stuff (like "Being a D.I.K." or "Houseparty"), instead we keep getting 0-8-15 hentai stuff.
Well, if that works out, maybe they expand their horizon a bit.

Crosmando: "Hey GOG can we have some good indie games? FIGHT KNIGHT just released!"

"No, but there's some low-quality shovelware porn with underage looking characters"

And they have the audacity to cry about GOG not being profitable. Here's a tip, release good games.
Good, cry more. I'll use your virtual tears for lube to these games.

Wolf904: - Visual novels
- Hentai rubbish like Honiecam Studio and Huniepop 2
- Cheap indie games like "Bonkies"

.... It seems like GOG curators don't care about real video games anymore, just focusing on filling the website with low-cost shovelware and porn games, because frustrated teenagers and 40 year-old virgins like wacking off over this stuff.

People complain about Steam being filled with trash, but GOG is going the same direction lately :V

Is this how GOG is going to continue now?
I totally agree. "Games" like these only lead to viewing porn sites. It's an atrocity to gaming. It's low, dishonest, debauched, and gross.
Sexuality should not be exploited to achieve the entertainment value for a game. It's indecent and distracting.

I get the sense that GOG was recently taken over by sodomites because this stuff will make you gay.

I'd say that people visiting porn sites tend to play these games :)
Cause and effect can be discussed endlessly.

There's a lot of things that should not be exploited to achieve entertainment value for games lilke brutality for example: When a plumber stomps on the back of a turtle, he gets coins for that. Is THAT what we want to teach our kids? Should they all become animal mass murdering maniacs?

Well ... obviously we do. And we want them to become sex obsessed. Also we want them to become reckless drivers, mass murdering commandos, tyrants and drug addicts. The number of games where a "stim" (=drug) gives you enhancements is endless.

There is already so much of this in films and other media that I don't see why anyone would single out video games. Besides, some of them are actually good or have unique game mechanics which makes them stand out despite having mature content (which often can be limited by using appropriate game options/censored builds).

If you don't like it, don't buy it. Problem solved.

There is no reason why extreme violence and gore should be exploited for entertainment value, yet it is almost constantly and seldom gets much in the way of complaint compared to games with sexual content. It's a ridiculous double standard devoid of merit, and I'm pleased it is being increasingly rejected by game sellers.

It's not as though anyone is forced to buy or play what they don't want to.

I just can't rate this comment high enough, sir.

I would not call being a D. I. K. quality. God, the models are atrocious. Look, the west mostly bombs when it comes to this stuff, let's just be honest. There is nothing "quality" about those titles. Put something on the scale of Full Metal Demon Muramasa against Being A DIK and tell me which one has more quality in level of storytelling alone? Exactly.

Grand 60 hour epic vs. Guy goes to college and parties. Yes, some of us are actually here for the gameplay and story content.

It's ok, if you don't. I do.
I laughed my ass off, Hell Week was hillarious. And the dev really goes into details. Apart from that it's like watching a TV soap ... with nudity. A lot of normal people trying to get along, no big bad evil dudes trying to go for world domination of something similar. I like that about the story.
There are so many variations for everything ... I call that amazing. He really put a lot of effort into it.

Btw ... If you are talking about grind I assume you mean a different game since in this one the progress is purely story based. There are no stats you can grind (except the funds for the house renovation).

Edit: We both may have very differnt tastes.
Just took a look at the novel you mentioned and now I know for certain that I will not look at it again. If there was much mentionable gameplay, it didn't show in the gameplay videos. And I don't like that type of character drawings anyway, asides from the 'guy for some reason fights other guys' storyline. When I was younger, I watched a lot of these 70s eastern flicks, but that I left behind. Now I stick to a few black & white classics and ignore the rest.

Does this game/novel/whatever even fit the category of games this thread is about?

I noticed clicking on Dungeon Town takes me to the catalog instead of the game page. Is this for some reason blocked in the USA or something? Or did nobody tried to buy it so GOG had no reason to discover this bug?

I can go to the Dungeon Town UNRATED page fine.
