I'd never thought I would live to see the day that The Sims is banned in some form. That kinda makes me laugh honestly.
"Until Down"
"Left 4 Dead 1,2,3"
"3D Sex Villa 2"

...ok.

Grargar: No.

Lin545: From linked document:

"не рекомендованных к ввозу" means "not recommended for import".
"рекоммендованных" = "recommended", "не" = "not", "к" = "for", "ввоз" = "import".

The word for "banned" would be "запрещенных". This document does not ban anything as-is.

Btw,... "Left 4 Dead 3" ! They have time machine!
Well yeah, but this is former Soviet state, so they use some jargon to make things more palatable. Like "ten years without the right to correspond" meant a bullet in back of the head and a unregistered nameless grave who knows where.
LULA 3D!!! :DDDDDDDDDDD

Well, tell that to them, get sued for defamation, pay up and learn your lesson.
If you are a man, of course. :)
Yeah, if your countries' stability can be threatened by something as trivial as video games, then chances are your country was pretty shit to begin with.
Bloody SJWs. Obviously the reason is radioactive masculinity in GTA, objectificificification of women in The Sims, and an insensitive potrayal of trans people in Mass Effect.

So here is announcement on the site of governmental agency of Uzbekistan http://ima.uz/250-e-l-o-n-.html
In there is:
"[..] В связи с этим, при осуществлении лицензируемые виды деятельности от всех лицензиатов требуется обеспечить недопущение ввоза, воспроизведения (изготовления) и распространения компьютерных игр, перечень которых приводится по нижеуказанной ссылке."

Translation

In regard to this, while performing licensed activities, all licensees are required to ensure that no import, making of (preparing) or distribution of computer games which are listed in document linked below is permitted.

So this *is* a ban. And "not recommended" *is* just a slang.

И какая тут еще диффамация, блин!

Maxvorstadt: Interesting, that this was brought up by some guy from India, not from Uzbekistan. :-D
Who told that "country" under a name means anything?
avatar
adaliabooks: I'm just surprised there is apparently a game called Naughty Bear and 3D Sex Villa 2... XD
Thank God they didn't ban Honey Select . :p

I know that's a jest, but give it time. Once censorship begins, it starts to snowball. If they're banning these games, how long before they key on others, like those jokingly mentioned here and other titles not mentioned? How long before they decide there are movies that are detrimental to society and they ban those? Then tv shows, then books?

Yup, once the idea is in the law; ie that media can be harmful to national interests and should be regulated, its only a matter of time before they slip down that slope.
Why anyone is surprised about banning some violent and/or sexual games in the islamic country? :o

manjeroque: Why anyone is surprised about banning some violent and/or sexual games in the islamic country? :o
Well, there doesn't seem to be any explicitly religious reasoning for these bans. I have to say that if communism did anything good, it was in creating relatively secular countries. I mean religious extremism seems to be heaps less apparent in the former-Soviet "stans" if you compare to Pakistan, Syria, Iraq etc.
