Regards, sorry for my English, it is not my language.

Today I installed gog galaxy after formatting my PC, and when I entered my data, I did not ask for the verification code.

Check and it is activated, because I was not required?

Thanks in advance.

It used to use cookies, but not any longer.

"Two-step is not only related to your cookies but multiple other factors too, so for people that clear cookies it should be less intrusive that you might have suspected. "
Rough translation:

Oh. I can't help you there, then. Hopefully someone more knowledgable than me can assist.

For non-Spanish speakers who don't know what's going on:
He says that he's wiped his hard drive and reinstalled the OS, yet two-step authentication has somehow got him pegged so that it doesn't ask him for a code when he logs in. It may have something to do with the fact he's getting in through Galaxy, but I don't know enough about it to help him. Y'all got any thoughts?

Hmm, that's certainly interesting. Maybe Galaxy has a way of identifying a computer by something that wouldn't be affected by wiping all your data, most likely the computers hardware? It could also be an oversight in its implementation.
Anyone from gog can give me any answer that will clarify this?

You know Spanish? Cool! I always knew you were Mexican!

It might be that GOG (at least Galaxy) doesn't trigger two-step authentication if you log in from the same IP address as before. Wiping and reinstalling your PC doesn't necessarily affect that.

When using browsers, I think at some point having your cookies cleared out (e.g. in Firefox) would always trigger the two-step verification, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. With browsers, I am not even sure what nowadays triggers it. I noticed this the other day:

1. If I logged in using Firefox (on the same PC), no two-step verification even if I logged out and cleared cookies and other stuff befween login sessions.

2. If I changed to another browser (which doesn't have valid cookies already) on that same PC, two-step verification would trigger.

So I don't know... Maybe GOG remembers what IP address AND browser you were using before, and won't trigger two-step verification until either one changes, or something like that?

Yeah, only GOG staff can say for sure, but then I am unsure if they want to reveal such highly classified(?) information.

Indeed, I'm half-black and half-Mexican. I learned Spanish in high school, and although I'm not fluent or even very strong, I did technically win some sort of "biliteracy award" for having studied it for so long and being able to read/write it fairly well.

Gracias.
