bad_fur_day1: What a nice story. Kid pirates turn into adult gamers. First GTA I played was a pirate copy of GTA3 when I was a student. I bought GTA4 three times, Xbox, PS3 special edition, PC. GTAV on like day two, Red Dead day one preorder, Max Payne 3, Bully x2, Manhunt 1 and 2. I feel like I got them back again.

I'm pretty sure I have one of the only copies of Manhunt 2 in my entire country.

ScotchMonkey: My buddy gave me a CD back in like grade 5 with the oriingal GTA on it. Bought every one after that and was glad to do it. Vice City is still in my top 5.

nightcraw1er.488: I didn't pirate Diablo, but I did spend a decade or more searching for the hellfire expansion, which cost me a lot a money!

ScotchMonkey: Bargain spindle at radio shack for less than 10 bucks :D

Hate to rub it in by my friend got a shitload of N64 games for pennies at a garage sale so I HAVE to spread the pain :P
Yes, you can get lucky sometimes, I got a big box baldurs gate 2 with manual and artwork in mint condition from a charity shop years back for 50p! But hellfire I never saw.anywhere.

tinyE: NOT SO FAST!

Security cameras got a picture of this guy leaving the Blizzard offices. The picture is a little blurry but I swear I've seen this asshole before!

Something is fishy here!

bad_fur_day1: Gamers with expendable income, what exactly do you think they're going to spend their money on? :P I'm mean what self respecting gamer would not want to pay the developers to make more kewl videogames, plz. It doesn't make any logical sense not buying videogames.
Well, gamers paid millions of money to Blizzard to keep making games. And look what they made! Diablo 3 : A Always-Online Diablo experience!

Thank you. Yup, I think the same ^_^
Pretty cool story, OP. Thanks for the share! Good thing it wasn't the Diablo 3 dev, otherwise I'm pretty sure he would have owed EVERYONE some money and time back. :D

Elmofongo: Ok the Pirates payed you back Blizzard now can you please give an offline Single Player option for Diablo 3 on PC?!
avatar
CharlesGrey: PC still doesn't have an offline mode? They added it to the console versions, so what's their excuse?
We're still too stupid to know that we don't want to play multiplayer.

OTOH, they may have a point, people were willing to give them money for that shit, so they might be right about that.
It is nice to know that there are people who try to correct their wrongdoings in the past or at least make up for things they them might have felt was okay at the time being.

Of course he forgot inflation and sales tax but let's not worry too much about details.

To be fair, Diablo 3 really isn't a bad game, especially after they added/ changed/ removed certain things. But their marketing department and script writers for D3 definitely deserve a punch or two...

Now, that would have made for an interesting scene... Maybe in a decade or two from now, at a similar event: "Hi, I bought your game "Diablo 3" back in the day, and ever since I feel like I owe you something -- KAPOW!"
I'm expecting offline single player for Diablo 3 in 19 years if my math is on point.
Diable(maybe?) and diable2 just got a patch update for playing on newer systems XD
I would pay Blizzard instead, if they joined Gog..

The premise certainly SOUNDS hilarious!
