Anime-BlackWolf: Old IDEA Factory games / older versions, not yet released here, please vote.

- "Megadimension Neptunia VII (2016)"
https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games#search=Megadimension

- "Fairy Fencer F (2015)"
https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/fairy_fencer_f
-> wishlist is NOT completed. That Game is not yet released here GOG. :)

NOW I think we have them all.
Why do you guys want an inferior version of the game?

"Fairy Fencer F Advent Dark Force is an enhanced remaster of the original game for PlayStation 4, PC and Nintendo Switch. It features extended fights, updated graphics, rebalancing, new story routes and character endings. The Switch version includes all of the new DLC on the PlayStation 4 version."
A note on Mugen Souls 1 + 2, they were published by NISA initially and were butchered far worse than Agarest Senki 2 and Criminal Girls 1 + 2. They removed a buff giving minigame from post-match and all the associated CGs, which were the majority of the CGs in the game.

Unless there was a completely new re-release by IFI, I would say avoid like the plague.

How comes that Death end re;Quest 1 has the German rating of 12 while Death end re;Quest 2 is rated 18? Is this just for the added "bad ending" in the second game? Or is there anything else?
After fiddling around with x360ce for an hour or rather two I found DS4 Windows which (obviously) worked immediately. Can finally play the games tomorrow. :)

Fair advice to potential Date A Live buyers:

These 3 VNs (Rinne Utopia, Arusu Install, Rio Reincarnation) actually coexist with the anime so it is highly recommended you watch/play them in order:

Anime season 1 -> Rinne Utopia -> Anime season 2 -> Arusu Install -> Rio Reincarnation

This plan will provide maximum enjoyment as you will get all the direct references and avoid confusion.

Season 3 of the Anime is only important for the yet unreleased (in the west) VN Ren Dystopia.
But do watch after all that if you want. It's good.

Hikage1983: Apologies but that (and the other 2 protag) outfits have looked like that since they were concept art.
avatar
Ancient-Red-Dragon: That doesn't necessarily mean that they are uncensored. Rather, it could just mean that the devs self-censored their art, starting at the concept art stage.

And I think such self-censorship is precisely what many of the complainers about the censorship in that game could be talking about.

So when you say the game is "not censored," maybe we are applying different definitions of what "censored" means.

I, and no doubt many others, consider self-censorship by the devs to be a form of censorship, which is just as bad as any other. These same devs self-censored Mary Skelter: Finale, for example, by toning down the suggestiveness of its outfits and such things as compared vs. the previous two games in that series which feature more risque themes.

That --- self-censorship by the devs -- is why Mary Skelter: Finale was released on PS4 in the West, yet Mary Skelter 2 (which the devs didn't self-censor) never was, since with MS2 they refused to pander to Sony's censorship policies, but with MS3, they did. But they simply did it to themselves before Sony demanded it from them. That doesn't make MS3 be "uncensored" though, just because the devs self-censored it.

So, to avoid the muddy definitions of "censorship," one could always rephrase the question to : have the outfits and other suggestive themes been toned down in DERQ 2 compared vs. how suggestive & risque they are in DERQ 1?
I don't know the full story with MS2 ,but it'st on the switch in the west....

kohlrak: I don't know the full story with MS2 ,but it'st on the switch in the west....
Trying to keep it short:
-The Japanese version for the PS4 released before Sony changed their censorship policies for worst
-Then the Asia version for the PS4 coincided to release around the same time Sony enforced more censorship on the games on the platform and demanded this version to be censored before release
-Game came out super broken, to the point downloading the free DLCs was impossible without some really weird workarounds and the game became a grindfest because one of the things removed affected gameplay
-Having the JP version made uncensored it easy to see that the game was censored
-West version for the PS4 was cancelled shortly after
-If I remember right, Nintendo also announced they'd stop enforcing censorship on third party titles not too long before that
-There was a surprise announcement for a Switch release of the West version of the game some time later, and it came with all the contents as the JP version from the PS4

But as a side not, some characters had their outfits reworked, and they seem less revealing now. Still, the game is pretty much as risqué as the game we got here on GOG and in the PS Vita.

Oh, btw: I hate controllers, so how good are those games playable with mouse (and maybe a bit of keyboard)?
Are there any recommended " must buys" ?. Do they all have japanese voices (plus eng subs) as options?.

alexandros050: Nice releases... I have been interested in the Hakuoki visual novels. Anyone who has played them before that can give us his/her impressions?
These are also the ones I'm interested in and I'd also be interested in hearing from anyone who played them. I looked at the Steam reviews a bit. It is one game split in two, with Kyoto Winds being the common part and the first chapter with each guy and Edo Blossoms continues with the specific route story (so best to play one route through both games before starting another). I saw several revews saying it is the best otome game or one of the best, however there are also several reviews saying that the English translation is not good and turns all of the guys into assholes in ways they aren't in Japanese. Some complaints about the main character as well. Not sure if this would be too much of a spoiler but if you care about the kind of endings you can get maybe look at the steam reviews. The DLC has extremely short (2 minutes) additional stories.

I'll probably have to give it a try even with the not so good translation, although I might wait for a bit better deal on the complete versions (deluxe + DLC for Edo, confusingly no complete bundle for that one). One thing I am wondering about if anyone has played it is how much blood there is, since I don't do well with blood in games.

The Neptunia games and the Death end re:Quest games do.
I haven't installed the other games yet, but I'm sure that every release has japanese VO.

Can't recommend any title as I only played the first three Hyperdimension Neptunia games.

Darvond: Oh, that Idea Factory.

I was hoping we'd gotten the Logic Factory complete collection instead.
Oh, Ascendancy... :)

I've played these before when they were released on PlayStation Portable as one game Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom. While I have not played the Kyoto Winds / Edo Blossoms versions, I have enough familiarity with Hakuoki from playing every romance route in the PSP version, that I can give you a general assessment of it.

TL;DR: To properly play Hakuoki, you're going to need Kyoto Winds, Edo Blossoms, the Winds Treasure Box DLC, and the Edo Treasure Box DLC.

Explanation -

As already cited by joveian, this was originally released as one game and has been split into two. I've read a few reviews that cite that Kyoto Winds covers the first five chapters of Demon of the Fleeting Blossom and Edo Blossom continues the game. While I don't remember exactly where the end of chapter 5 would end, this means that Kyoto Winds is going to end at a point that really is not an ending.

The second is that the first time I played through Hakuoki, I got Soji Okita (who is in the Edo Blossoms Treasure Box DLC) as my love interest while I hooked up with Hajime Saito (who is in the Kyoto Winds Treasure Box DLC) during my second playthrough. This means that without the DLCs, you can start Soji Okita's route but not finish it while you can finish Hajime Saito's route but not start it.

My assumption is that if you meet the requirements to start or continue a specific route but have not bought the DLC, you'll get Kazama's route instead. In Demon of the Fleeting Blossom, you could only get Kazama's route by not hooking up with anyone which actually made him the hardest to get in that version.)

If you're going to buy these, I would buy both games as the versions that include the Treasure Box DLC or standard versions plus Treasure Box DLC separately. The only thing I would consider optional is any soundtracks and wallpaper. I seriously wish they just released it as one game for $30-$40 instead of chopping it up like they did.

Unfortunately my own backlog is sitting at 600+ games and I've already done my November game shopping, so I'm wish listing this one for now as Hakuoki might have otherwise been a day one purchase. I will pick them up eventually even if for no reason that my PSP really isn't holding a charge anymore.

According to some reviews that I have looked at, there are improvements over prior versions despite the game being chopped into two:
- additional character routes
- Kazama's route is longer
- more CG art
- completely new soundtrack, which some like and some don't
- character animations were redone & better than PS3 Hakuoki. I don't remember there being any in the PSP version.

KillingMoon: Oh, Ascendancy... :)
Yes, the very same! A fine game that deserves better than an abandoned iOS port.

LordCephy: snip
Thank you very much for your detailed information :)

Anyone knows if the soundtrack is Flac or at least MP3 (320kbps) ?
