Timboli: You guys are sick ..... you do know that right?

A sure sign of the collapse of civilization due to video games ... you've been playing too much with yourselves.

It does look like a DeviantArt kind of thing ;)

Nothing in this weird wacky world surprises me much ... or very rarely.

I am expecting your new boyfriend to reply in kind soon. ha ha ha ha

P.S. He's not my type, but I hear he is a real tiger, who has a claw for ecstasy, and can take you to the brink. So cheap at twice the price he charges.

idbeholdME: If I understood correctly, a non-admin user could get admin rights on your PC through a vulnerability in the Galaxy client.

Nope.
Bit more classy than that. I've made a post about this artist in the past; where I namedropped every comic they'd worked on (to date) to see if anyone would pick up on the fact that I might be a slight fan of Tokifuji.

Could you send some pics of your hard drive? Any vids of you... defragging?
This thread.

Mortius1: For everyone with single user PCs, by the time the locally running malware is ready to exploit GOG, they already have most of the data they could possibly want.

There was a salient XKCD comic several years ago on the security benefits of exploiting elevated privileges.

More a concern for shared PCs, and probably for removing the infection afterwards.
He should have added, hacked the forums, to that list.

And once again GOG decided to not give us any feedback at all. Since we all know, they are LISTENING to OUR feedback ... they never promised us to participate as well and maybe explainn that they will fix things asap. GOG as we know them - unfortunately.

I wish I could, but my hard drive is powered down right now, sorry...
I had hoped to read some news about them having fixed it by now. But hey are still in denial of that? Good Gog, thats disgusting; get down from your high horse and do something.
Gog asked (too late) for 3 additional months after the deadline, due to the required major restructuring of Galaxy, so it will take a while..
Now the cat is out of the bag, the fix may not even happen or be put back on the backburner.
I'm not sure too many are gonna see it as important enough to worry much over it.
And there are a good number of us that don't even use Galaxy.

Personally, I would like to see them take their time (sic) fixing it, and rework Galaxy from the ground up to be less bloated and lighter on System resources.

I agree that it is unpleasant to use but its kind of their big thing that they want everyone to use. Putting it on the back burner makes absolutely no sense; doubling down on fixing the more popular this become and an honest (aka no cynical praying monk silliness) statement would.
I hope no one here is negatively affected by this. I will also express my support of downloading the offline installers without using the client at all. I hope GOG can fix this issue for Galaxy but also put more of a focus on offline installers outside of Galaxy.
