I got a serial with Gal Civ 1 Ultimate Edition. I assume it's to be used on the Stardock site, but it refuses it.

They have Gal Civ, Gal Civ II and Gal Civ II Ultimate, but not the ultimate edition of the first game. So why was I given a serial? It's no biggy, I was just curious as to what it's for if not that.

They most certainly do, because I got my previous copy of the UE from them.

In any case, the serial number is for the Metaverse, Stardock's online score-board. I've never used it myself, so I can't tell you much about it (heck, I don't even know, if anyone still uses it for GalCiv 1). If you don't care about highscores, then you can ignore the serial.
