RakeeshSorrel: Don't worry. Though the manual says it it "become important" it isn't. The comic contains backstory that is touched lightly in the game's story, being set around the time of the enslavements of Africans in America. It expands the story behind "Sins of the Father" by looking at what exactly that "sin" was.
You actually see some of it during the initial dream sequence when you start a new game where all the imagery actually tells the story, just not as in-depth as the comic does.

well i don't think it is "touched lightely" as the whole story is a repetition of past events and actually the whole plot takes its roots in the event described in the novel. During the game, you get the synopsis at one time, but knowing it beforehand adds a lot of depth to what's going on on the screen and you can identify many of the stuff that's mentioned or shown graphically.
